WOAH that guy is speaking the TRUTH at 12:36, saying fifa is a corrupt organization and of course they want the "top players" in the tournament so then they didn't give ronaldo the red.

to be honest, I was a little bit upset with iran not getting the penalty earlier in the 2nd half, thought they got a 50-50 penalty on the hand to sort of make up for it (although much later on so not really equal), and i thought the ronaldo penalty is just what ronaldo does in drawing fouls and it would have been given in any la liga match.

what really upsets me though is what they discuss in the video. the ronaldo foul is either intentional (elbow to the face, away from ball, red card and 1-3 game suspension) or the referee assesses he was trying to get through and there is no foul. there is no middle ground on this, so yellow doesn't make sense. like carlos said, there shouldn't be a rule that it's a red card unless messi/ronaldo and then only a yellow.

I agree with those saying our fans are exaggerating a bit with the referee drama - our players didn't do a good job of keeping their cool either. for the second game in a row hajsafi got in the official's face and argued like a maniac for a call that was correct.....as a captain he should not be doing that. I am so proud of our team and our performance but the attitude they showed towards the officials these 3 games was puzzling and I am surprised CQ stood for it.

The penalty was hand ball changing the direction of the ball and slight intention in changing the direction of the ball

This is actually correct. Based on the rules, it should be either no foul or a red. There is no gray area in which a yellow could have been shown. To me there is no doubt there is corruption to keep big stars and teams in the cup. VAR is a Fucking joke. That game was a circus

It's easy to hate Ronaldo, but he didn't actually punch him in the face. He probably wanted to, but then he just used his arm to push him. If it had been his elbow, certainly a red card, but yellow seems a good call, especially as everyone neutral seemed to feel that way.

Plus Ronaldo was ineffective anyway. Him being off the pitch doesn't magically get us 2 goals. Not 'robbed' at all.

The penalty is certainly arguable, but then we got a penalty for no handball, so that evens that out.
