The biggest reason our attack has not improved is because you need a good pitch to improve passing play/attacking play.
We cannot expect Carlos Queiroz to improve our attacking game on a potato field. it is a fact that has been there for atleast 8 years he's steering TM. he's been fighting to get a high quality standard pitch that even bangladesh FC has. he has fought and got PEC now we need the pitch!

CQ also knows that our players are technically capable but when you cannot practice the attacking strategies back home what can we expect. altough we all know CQ likes a counter attacking approach but a coach with his experience also knows how to attack, if given the neccesary tools to develope.

Come on,give me a break. How much do you think that other national teams train? We have PEC, we have had multiple camps to train. The problem is our youth system, our players develops too late. But to always complain about our pitches is lame. We have several players training on a daily bases in Europe on good pitches and that is almost all of our attacking players but still our attacking strategy is really weak. Defence doesnt win you games, it just keeps you in it.

No, he just confirmed that he has an offer from IFF to renew his contract for 6 months but he said it wasn't the right time to talk about it.

I really hope he takes the 6 month "extension" quickly and without prolonged negotiations like after the last World Cup. We really need continuity and there's very little time to the Asian Cup.

That would be a good time to negotiate something more comprehensive IMHO, especially if we win the cup.

i would LOVE for him to stay and guide us thru the 2022 WC ...
But It's not going to make a difference if the federation will not change the way it does things for preparation and making players available for camps before big tournaments.
The Asian Champions League schedule is a killer too. Not having players from top clubs makes any camp or preparation games pointless. It's not only IRAN, I just don't understand WHY the Asian Champions League timetable is the way it is KNOWING the timing of the World Cup FOUR YEARS ahead ... SMFH

Beiranvand and Ansarifard already started the campaign for queiroz contract extension until the world cup. now the fans are better off to make some noise

Ali Daei and Ferdowsipour surely are behind him too. But i think Queiroz has a bigger plan for Ali Daei.

I just wanted to add ...
ONE THING I am terrified about is ... to see what happened with CQ in Portugal at the WC 2010 , when they were knocked out and Ronaldo said : ASK CQ why we didn't attack more.
If you are a defensive minded coach by philosophy, you are always gonna make sure you are NOT scored on ... and then unleash the attack after 65-70 minutes.
The reason why GHODDOS didn't play longer.
What I am saying is ... I just HOPE we don't come to a day when instead of PRAISING CQ the whole nation wants him fired because he didn't push the team to go forward and play to win when we HAD the opportunity.

IE : I don't want to feel like the way I did when BRANKO kept us in defensive mode in the 2nd half against MEXICO before they scored their 2nd goal. We could have WON that game. The talent we had on attack in that team - even if injured - was WAY better than this one. Uuugghhhh ...

Let's just hope that IF and WHEN the extension is secured for CQ he realizes and learns from the past ... and begins to teach the team how to break into a different mode and score goals ...

oh, and we NEED some free kick specialists like Nekunam ...
Our set pieces have been great due to accurate deliveries from HAJSAFI + DEJAGAH ... we HAVE to find replacements for those two .. FAST ...
Otherwise we will have trouble getting goals.

It will be he's 3th World Cup with Iran by 2022. 11 years of work and I expect then that he got a team that is going to at least the round of 16. It would be amazing if he stay with us till World Cup 2026 it is not only a record of 15 years but historical. I am sure we can win the Asian Cup 2019 and I hope he practice on your attacking for the next World Cup 2022 and prepaire well because I execpt more in this 3th time World Cup of Carlos Queiroz.

Next World Cup will be better performance because we playing almost home!

                      • World Cup 2014: begin of he's work of CQ
                      • Asian cup 2015: was not bad
                      • World Cup 2018: excellent
                      • Asian Cup 2019: except a win
                      • World Cup 2022: at least round of 16
                      • World Cup 2026: at least quarter final

Now that TM has performed well, CQ will have the stronger hand to negotiate with IFF and more likely with additional demands. IFF and SM are willing to extend his contract with the set of their own conditions (as they should) however biggest obstacle will be financial arrangements. Can IFF afford him during austerity resulting from recession and sanctions?
Perhaps they can offer him longer contract with option to divorce after +6 months should condition changes for the worse unfavored to him.

                          You want ketchup with that?

You guys think other teams are "Choghondar", they let us walk all over them and while we advance they stay behind?
Look at the results so far in this WC. My conclusion so far has been that the game is becoming more leveled with the gap narrowing significantly, we have been witnessing this for almost 20 years now and the gap keeps getting narrower. This means better chances for us, yes, but also better chances for others. Whether it is Sierra Leone, or Uzbekistan or Mexico and Croatia as well as the top teams....Personally I don't think we can extend a contract based on one tournament. We did so well against Spain and Portugal, but this also means other teams in Asia will train to hold us back. They will also study our world cup performance to stop us, the table has now turned. So if we draw with China in the next cup, should we then fire CQ??? We have learned to think more than a tournament, it's about long term planning. This team's foundation in my opinion is based on previous teams from 98- forward. Let's keep building on this foundation, i know you guys love the TM and want results NOW, and hopefully WE WILL GET IT. but too much is at stake to base it on one cup.

If Taremi had scored on that easy chance with 2 minutes left, we would be facing Russia in the Round of 16 and I honestly think we had a 60-70% chance of beating them and going to the QF. And this was in a WC where we had been in the group of death! We were ONE wasted chance away form topping a group with the champions of Europe, champions of Africa, and the best national team of the last decade!

If CQ stays, the skeleton of this team will be in their prime by the next WC in Qatar where all our matches will be practically home games. I easily see us making the QF in 2022. IF they manage to keep CQ.

Another thing we shouldn't forget: Queiroz is fully aware of the power he gained now. Even more after world cup 2014. If he gets a contract until the next world cup, then he will be of fully control of iranian football. he will get his camps, he will get players whenever he wants plus he will shut his crictics like ali karimi. I mean you have to ask yourself why the likes of Ali Karimi didn't come out yet. Because they know it's going to be suicide.
