Did anyone watch CQ's live interview on 2018 show with Mohammad Reza in Russia? He was the feistiest I have ever seen him, LOL he attacked Branko and exposed Perspolis F up with its Ukrainian players and how wasted so much money on them. He said if I extend my contract, IFF head cannot keep coming at me asking to ease down and stop talking about Perspolis etc.

CQ is a good coach and no one can deny that he has gotten fantastic results with Iran. But i’m tired of seeing us play like this. We have so many great attacking players but we can’t make use of them. Taremi and especially Jahanbaksh was wasted on defence. I am sure Taremi would have scored that chance if he had not been made to waste his energy on defending for most of the game!Esteghlal 💙💙

Results matter at the end of the day thus still SMH SMFH

I already said he has gotten fantastic results with Iran, it is our playing style that i’m tired of.

UAE after tying Japan in official time, beat Japan in Penalty Kicks by scoreline of 5-4 and hell no they were not "Outclassed" by Japan. Nowadays Outclassed is only applicable when you beat the opponent. You can play the fanciest football but at the end if you can't beat the rival, then your superior football is worth your neighbor's trashcan!

In the asian cup, we didn't deserve to be out in the quarters. Even down to 10 men we almost made it back. The UAE on the other hand played well and deserved to finish third. They were far from being an exciting team to watch but they could kill a game.
Now on the other point why don't we have a more offensive approach? We're talking about Spain, Portugal and even Morocco which caused problems to both Spain and Portugal. With all the respect I have for Omid Ebrahimi and saeid, our midfield would have been non existent and we would concede 3 goals since we can't rely on a strong defense. Everybody in the football world would do the same, secure the D and then attack. We even have our own domestic example which is esteghlal, their new coach first secured the D and they started to get results. Unfortunately, a national team is not a club where they would be a season long together, on top of that, even though there's an improvement we don't get any decent preparations compared to the rest of the world.
We never qualified to a world cup so easily and we never had more than 3 pts in group stages in a WC and people are still complaining. As a matter of fact we were 50cm or a meter away to make it to the second round (Mahdi's shoot)

With a football where our "best club" gets spanked 4-0 and 3-1 by the likes of Al-Hilal and Al-Sadd, some geniuses are not satisfied that we were ONE missed goal away from topping a group that included the champions of Europe and Africa as well as Spain!
The lack of perspective some people have is unbelievable.

Another proof that Taj and Queiroz were planing all this.
In this Video Taj is talking to Adel Ferdowsipour, where he says that everything is set up for the asian cup and that every pgl coach knows that. by violating this plan they will be fined. Taj even tells that he has enough of these sabotages done by some coaches. Very interesting development and maybe the best thing that could happen to iranian football.

So to justify our defensive approach in that game based on ”one of their best teams” is not good enough. I believe we can get the same results( or possibly better) with a more attacking approach. If this was 2014 i would agree with this defensive approach, but this time we had so much firepower upfront.
That UAE was the best team they had in their entire football history !
There is a good video about their success in football. I can't find it.
