We just love over-analyzing every little thing our players do and exaggerating everything. Have you seen players from other teams with their constant diving, b!tching around, nagging, cursing, playing dirty etc.?! Here are just 2 players you might have heard about

Not just what our players do Amin jaan, what our fans do, reporters say and even what other reporters, fans and players in other teams say about us or their own teams!!!

You need to open your eyes a bit more and try to see the realities. And don't buy everything those biased lackey pundits say to please their bosses.

The people calling this thread to be deleted exemplify the sort of behaviour I'm talking about.

As for footy not being for me I'm from the birthplace of the game, England, so watch proper football regularly. My brother and I have played for semi-pro teams (brother still does) so we know all about footy.

Beiranvand was not stamped on, and I've watched the replay many times. HOWEVER the filthy spanish player went up to his face and was presumably giving him abuse. The Spanish player in an ideal world would have had a yellow for that behaviour but.... as you all say.. this is football. Verbal abuse is part of it and Bieranvand should have manned up to it and ignored it rather than fake injury and roll around.

Yes other teams cheat too but my point is should we lower ourselves to their level? When I'm watching the match with England fans and I have to hold my head in shame as my beloved Iran are acting like these cheating foreign sides.. it doesn't look good. We're better than these other cheaters. We're a noble nation.

Arguing with ref - yes others do it too, but again you're only giving examples of Argentines, Spanish, Portuguese, Italians... they're the scum of the scum. Do we really want to be as bad as these guys!??

Going to the hotel the night before... yes we English have hooligans too but our hooligans are MASSIVELY DENOUNCED by all English fans and media. We hate English hooligans and ban them. Whereas when I complain about these guys who kept Ronaldo up the night before people say this thread should be deleted. Really? Is this what we have become??

I know this won't be popular but here it goes. I'm sorry to say this but despite our heroic performances and results, I'm somewhat embarrassed to be an Iran fan after several aspects of the campaign.

Our players rolling around like crazy pretending they'd been fouled
Our players arguing with the ref aggressively
Our supporters going over to the Portugal hotel the night before the match trying to stop them sleeping (!!!?)
Overall I think we lost a lot of sympathy from people who would otherwise have supported us as underdogs.
I only say this as I love the team and don't want us to have a bad reputation.
Compare this to the reputation of Senegal or Japan. Not much cheating... supporters collecting rubbish after the game.
For a proud and noble nation that has been centuries ahead of the rest of the world in terms of civilisation I can't see how it is acceptable for us to act so badly. What have we become?

Did you never see players arguing with the referee before? lol it happens all the time, even worse. And the fans went to the Portugal camp, so what? It’s a funny story and makes the world cup enjoyable.

Who the hell cares about sympathy. We don’t need any of that fake sympathy - we stand alone and always will. This is our strength. Our performance was enough to create fear and respect and those who truly understand the game of football appreciate it. btw. yeah we also saw Korean fans collecting rubbish in Azadi, but once they got triggered they turned into bunch of wild basijis

BEAR UP and be fucking proud to have such a national team. Till now no other team even came close to our passion, gheyrat and love. Against our own federation, against sanctions, against FIFA...we came and fought like soldiers in the most difficult Group of the World Cup. This is more valuable than anything else!

Alright let’s be more civil guys! Everyone had their own opinions. Yet yours seem to be one that pleases the other countries considering that we haven’t gained anything from playing nice EVER! You need be rough and tough. Let me remind we aren’t there to please others! I'm an extremely proud Aryan Iranian fiercely proud of my country, its history, its superior civilisation and its football team. We embarrassed the US in 1998 by giving them so many presents before the match (and receiving rubbish in return). That made me prouder than the result because we are a noble people.

I agree with you about everything except the fans going to the hotel part. That happens in every sport. Fans can do whatever they want, its fun.

The problem with the time wasting and rolling around is that people here are always yelling at Arab teams for doing it. They dont realize (or care) that iran does it just as much. They just want to pretend that somehow we are superior to them. Infact there is very little difference between the antics of Iran and other Arab teams.
