What's Next for TM and TM Fans? Important Dates.

This was an incredible world cup. We got so much praise from the world media and also saw an incredibly spirited, tactical and proud Iranian team.

Now, we must look forward to the big events coming in the near future.

2018 AFC U-16 Championship - from 20 September and 7 October 2018. Iran is in a group with Vietnam, India, and Indonesia. The top 4 teams advance to the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru.

2019 Asia Cup - 5 January – 1 February. Iran is in a group with Vietnam, Yemen and Iraq.

Asian Champions League - both Esteghlal and Persepolis are in the Quarter Finals. The first leg is on August 27 and August 28 vs. Qatari teams, respectively.

Asian Games - Men's football will be contested from August 14 to September 1 in Jakarta and Palembang.

What team are we sending for the Asian games? There's a high chance South Korea might win as a lot of their main team players will be playing so they can get exempt for their military service if they win.

The dates of the Asian Games and the ACL games along with the international friendly window mean there will be lots of NT/Club disputes. Thanks AFC!

2018 CAFA Championship - October 8-16 most likely in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Groups have yet to be decided. Likely two of 3 teams headed by Iran and Uzbekistan.

Very glad they're bringing this back and maintaining CAFA. Its development will be very important to ensure the development of football at all ages (both men's and women's) in Iran (and Asia), and that we as a whole aren't reliant on a few malevolent powers in the area. It is also an important stage and platform for the voices of Central Asia to be heard -- vital when you have others with outsized influence in the region.

The 2019 AFC Asian Cup has 4 members from CAFA for the first time: Iran, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan. Sadly Tajikistan and Afghanistan did not qualify. All members of WAFF qualified for 2019 AFC Asian Cup.

Last time there were more than 2 from Central Asia at AFC Asian Cup was 2004: Iran, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. Although that time Iran was member of WAFF.

Now the ultimatum is 1st september to see if there is any sense to follow international football.
