    AC2019 and WC2022 Qualifiers: Who's In, Who's Out?

    Friends,

First, congrats to everyone for a historic TM performance, and a new "high water mark" for our football. I created a thread after we beat South Korea in Azadi declaring that we were witnessing hands-down the best TM of all time. I think our performance verified it. Every TM generation from here on out will be compared to the lions of 2018...the most unified, gritty, and elite TM we've ever had. A team that was 10 inches away from knocking Cristiano Ronaldo out of the world cup and winning the group of death....unbelievable.

It dawned on me (sadly) that this is likely the end of the road for Gucci, Ashkan, Shojaei, Montazeri, and maybe others. I don't see any of these players making the AC2019 squad. What's hard to imagine is that Karim Ansarifard (28) and Hajisafi (28) may possibly not make the WC2022 squad, as they'll be 32 by then.

The spine of the team will remain in AC2019, and on through to WC2022 qualifiers: Beiranvand, PAG, M. Hosseini, Cheshmi, Ezzi, Jahanbakhsh, Azmoun.

My question is - who will be invited/dropped for the AC2019 squad (and WC2022)? What new young talents are on the horizon and who do you expect to get chopped?

Probably wont change too much for Asian Cup, last time the older players (like Nekounam) didn't retire after World Cup and stayed for Asian Cup

        Delfi, Noorafkan, Shekari.
The older players deserve a testimonial match.
I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

I still can’t believe Delfi signed with Esteghlal..

I swear to God, if he had offers from decent European clubs’ youth teams and chose Esteghlal over them, then he’s an idiot.

Even if they offered him a lot of money and his family is poor he could still speak and compromise with with the “European club” for an increase in salary.

I hate it when our talented youth players sign with Persepolis and Esteghlal..

Defli did not sign with Esteghlal Tehran. He has made it know he wants to play in Europe, only.

It's pretty much guaranteed there will be some players in WC 22 that no one has heard of right now. Just think how many had ever heard of Milad Mohammdi or Taremi back in 2014...

Apart from Delfi, Noorafkan and Shekari, I would add Sayyadmanesh, Moharrami and maybe even Sohrabian, Esteghlal's 22 year old LB. Ghaedi could also be there if he gets his act together and doesn't become another Payam Sadeghian.

Along with Delfi and Shekari, I’d really like to see Taha Shariati. Since Pouraliganji Chesmi and Hosseini are all stud cbs and pretty much locked in their roles, I’d wanna see Taha try out a cdm role to eventually fill Omid Ebrahimi’s shoes. I feel like he could definitely do it. From his videos on YouTube it seems he’s a good passer and very calm with the ball along with playing great defense. Would be a great midfield partner for Saeid.

Its too early to say all the players mentioned above will be considered or even great. We had players who eventually became flops and even lost the radar for years, such as Mehrzad Madanchi.

For the next World Cup 2022 we will get meany good young Iranian players. The Young Iran did great at the world cup under 17 if I am correct it was one the best. If we get this kind of players for the World Cup 2022 would be great.

AC 19 only out will be Masoud (maybe also Dejagah if he doesn't find a club).

Probably Qholizadeh will be in, or Shariati depending on their playing time with their clubs.
