Im sorry but Asia does not deserve less spots. The amount is the perfect amount. Saudi Arabia qualified though trough the refs giving them 25 penalties which resulted in one of the asiasn teams being a joke while the rest fought hard.

I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but just to highlight how unlucky we were with the draw: Iran is the ONLY team to collect 4 points but miss the Round of 16! Every other team with 4 points was able to make it through. Put us in Japan or Saudi's group and we would have easily advanced.

Japan was the best Asian team as they advanced again. We were great and missed topping the group even by a couple of inches and minutes. South Korea had the most impressive result of one game as they shocked the world and eliminated the reigning champions. Aussie was disappointing imo and so was Arzani in the few minutes he played however i heard Juventus is interested so it seems that we may be getting an unfair treatment of our players still with big clubs not knocking yet. Saudi was Saudi again with an asterisk.

It makes sense though! When you're used to the kind of coaching that gets spanked 4-0 and 3-1 against Al-Zahremaar and loses to Qashqai in the Hazfi Cup, you can't be impressed with a team that comes within ONE missed goal from topping a group with the champions of Europe, Africa and some little team called Spain! When your coach needed a 94th minute goal to beat the 7th team of UAE (!), it's only natural that tying Portugal and almost knocking them out won't mean much to you. Your standards are way too high

I agree, even though we were gifted with an own goal . Japan did choke in the final match needing a victory they failed. However, they did advance and you have to give them credit for that.

Japan played some of the lowest IQ teams in this WC.
And they got lucky to get 4 points and luckier to advance
form their group.
And their last 10 minutes vs Poland was a complete farce that
needs to be addressed by FIFA.

So without a shadow of a doubt Iran was the best Asian team in
this WC.

Probably because they play more entertaining (fun to see) football instead of setting back to defend for 70 minutes. It takes guts to play like that against big teams!

Considering the resources available to each side, by far Iran has performed the best. If "resource" are not relevant, then I'd say overall Japan and Australia play better floating game than the rest of the Asian teams. We are the best defensive team in the world right now. I mean we played Spain and Portugal and in 190 minutes of football, gave up 2 goals. Portugal and Spain each gave up 3 goals to the same teams in 90 minutes of football. think about that.

you are confusing "entertaining" versus "better performance".

A great defensive team can have a better performance than a entertaining attacking team. It's like comparing the NBA champions to the Harlem globetrotters.
