With the players that Germany produces they could play without a coach and still get good results.
I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

      Their fans are very disappointed.
Supposedly, he's basically a player motivator and does very little actual coaching.
Why are Japan replacing their current coach? Was he always a short-term solution and gonna go after the WC anyways? I loved the guy!

Through the years, I'm starting to rate Klinsmann more and more. Germany was a hopeless team in 2004, but in 2006 he nearly got them to WC finals.

Also with US, he had a very good 2014 campaign (took Belgium to ET, eliminated Portugal)...and when US sacked him, they acutally ended up getting worse. Not a top tier coach of course, but not shit either.

We win five draw three and lose two yet they're technically better than us?? How??

            Let’s be realistic here.

Japan’s are miles ahead of us when it comes to investing into their football. And I mean from football pitches to putting focus on their youth so that they can one day win a World Cup.

Iran on the other hand has the best chemistry and unity as a TEAM in Asia. I know some will disagree with me but this is my opinion.

We are so closely knit and organized and that’s thanks to our head coach and his staff.

So while Japan have invested a lot into their football and it’s clearly evident that it’s showing somewhat positive results, we on the other hand have to send our talent to Europe to gain the required experience to be able to perform at such high level and intense tournaments such as the World Cup.

Not to mention that our youth system is very disorganized. There is no real league for our clubs’ youth players. Although League Bartar clubs such as Sepahan and Foolad (for example) invest somewhat into their youth teams, our football as a whole is disorganized and lacks the fundamental training needed for a young player to grow.

Who watched the interview with Mahdavikia recently? Where he said “Ba yek baghale paa mitoonestim berim marhaleye bad”. Not to disrespect or put down Taremi but his point is valid. Even with tired legs, even if defending for 90+ minutes, some of our players haven’t even played youth football.

The point is, Team Melli in 2018 is not to be messed with. We are a great team and we surely proved that at the World Cup with those performances. But what about after Carlos leaves? What about after the generation of Jahanbakhsh and Ezatolahi? What about then? Who will be in charge? We need to do what the Japanese started doing 20 years ago. Focus on our youth and investing the right way into our football.

Japan. Because unlike us, they can attack decently.
We are second and then comes South Korea.
A free and reborn Iran without organized religion and rooted in its true herritage and values

                True.

Even Berti Vogts could argue he got decent results with Manschaft.

Tbh after watching our games in the U17 WC, investing in KIA, young players being transfered to Europe, I'm quite sure in the future, we will be even better.

Of course Brazil did get a bit unlucky, but the proof is in the putting. Japan scored 2 goals against this Belgium team and frankly Belgium's the 2nd goal against Japan was very lucky. But as we saw today Belgium plays superb defense and still Japan put their mark.

We have improved a lot but I still beleive japan plays better football than us.

BTW this is for people that have forgotten where we used to be : CQ CQ

Once we get rid of IRI Iran will be Western European level football. For now we will be hard to beat but lacking in attacking ability against tougH opposition

What a bullshit line-up. Beiranvand had been put down in most quarters as the goalkeeper of the world cup (not just asia) and this guy misses him out.

Some members here don't like Johnny Duerden, but the guy ALWAYS rates us. Don't know who the hell Gabriel Tan is (and have no respect for Faux Sports anyway) but at least Duerden knows his stuff and gives credit when its due, rating us the best Asian team in the group stages over japan and his wife's korea.

They shut up our delusional fans who said "Colombia would have crushed Japan with 11-men" "Japan would have earned 0 points in our group". This Belgium is far stronger than Spain and Portugal. Judging by the two Iberians' poor performances in the knockout stage, our group's difficulty was overrated.

Tbh, I thought Japan was better than us even before the tournament. They have proven players in the top 5 leagues in every position. Our squad makes them look like Brazil.
