That's his major weakness as a striker. He shot lacks any power.

Even though he didn’t score in this match it was IMO one of his best ever performances. What he did off the ball and his execution on counters were all flawless he was causing all kind of panic all over the Portugal D line

He did well, but flawless? Not even close. He lost the ball on counter-attacks at least three times; it was frustrating, because on one occasion in particular, if he would have passed sooner, it would have been an opportunity on goal.

With all due respect, what has Gucci done in the last year to deserve playing time? Gucci is the ultimate poacher type of forward, however his style doesn’t fit what a Team Melli needs. TM needs. A true number 9 and Sardar is the only one we have. Honestly I thought Kaveh should have got the nod over Gucci.

A lot of people criticized CQ because of the inclusion of Ashkan and Masoud. But I think the plan was to have some pro veterans in camp to keep the team together. The along with Gucci were there as a positive influence and leaders. As you can see our young guys are very emotional, it’s the things that Ashkan and Masoud do behind the scenes that is so inavlauable.

Gucci is always dangerous for the last 20-15 min. Just look at the Turkey Game, when
he helped us to get the penalty.

Our current TM with Dejagah from WC2014 and we would have much more stability in
our attacks.

Azmoun was there to the last opportunity, people talk about Taremi missing the goal against Portugal but who created that opportunity??? Azmoun! He kicked the ball towards goal and it bounced off Portugal's defense landing in front of Taremi.

I second that. If you watch minutes 46-76 (half an hour) of the Portugal match again you notice he sucked on everything. I really don't get why majority of people are praising him. IMO he was our worst player. I have re-watched Iran matches at least two times. He was incredibly disappointing.

What? Where did you get those facts (if you even checked facts, which i doubt)?

I'm pretty sure he was leading all players in aerial battles won (by %) after the first 2 group stage games. I can only assume he had similar numbers after the 3rd game - not sure what you were watching.

In the early minutes of Morocco match his disastrous clear in the 6-meter box (which makes you laugh and cry same time) puts the ball in front of Morocco player with super great goal opportunity. We were so extremely lucky Morocco player could not convert that. Just imagine if we conceded that goal how the rest of that game and rest of WC could have turned for us. We would have most likely totally different treads and discussions on this forum today. It was just pure luck. That could have been a world cup changer for us.
Just go re-watch it yourself.

Instead of emotionally bringing your fingers in motion to create treads and write comments just spend half an hour and re-watch the first 30 minutes of the second half against Portugal. He sucked on everything he did. Maybe it gives a second thought about why Gucci resigned from team melli today. Just go spend half an hour and re-watch. Again, now that WC is over for us and we are not so emotional and biased anymore go, as I suggested before, re-watch the matches yourself. If you don't have time just re-watch second half's first 30 minutes of Portugal match which could have given us the opportunity to advance and see how Azmoun plays.
