Terrible thinking by Sardar - and if he actually thought about this - he would not have made this decision. But thinking has not been one of his strong points. He seems to want to be cuddled by parent-types (i.e. Berdyev etc.), that's not how the world works.
I agree with you re the way the world works. But regarding Iranian culture, I don't think so. You play mother card and you get cuddles.

Azmoun aka the fake bad boy.

He is a good contender to break the karimis recors of "i retire i comeback"

I guarantee that he will be back.
I previously met Sardar - he is easily influenced by other players and lets his emotions overtake him - childish at times.
And then you have Jahanbakhsh - mature, dignified and very eloquent.

Since I have not actually expressed my opinion of Azmoun but only criticised his decision fiercely, I feel the need to express my support too. I think he is a great player. He fitted really well in CQ's plans and did work very hard. He was constantly running the entire length of the pitch. In an offensive style of play where he would preserve his energy more, he would shine even more. He is an asset for TM and those in charge of TM must do whatever it takes to help this kid. He is simply brilliant and can become a great star with the help of a good mentor.

Lol, what a little cry-baby. Criticism from fans isn't a problem unique to Iranians.

If he's so thin-skinned, then I guess international football isn't for him. Also, I don't know who he thinks he is, but the dude is acting like he's doing us a favor by playing in team melli.

Good riddance you overrated man-child. At least now Kaveh gets a chance to prove he's the best striker to come out of Iran since Daei.

Completely disagree. As a culture we are soft? Did you not witness Omid Ebrahimi, Amiri, Rezaeian in this WC? Beiranvand?

Are you sure you wanna throw us all in this insult of yours?

Iranian resiliency is legendary and our strength is world-renowned. But we do have a mother-cuddling culture that is quite frankly, disgusting.

In the psychoanalytical world, our mothers portray themselves as angel-like and pure - which they it to guilt ever man, especially husbands and sons. Which is bullshit. We are all human. But this is another story.

It's related because Sardar did this to appease his mother. She still cooks for him for God's sake. I don't know if you saw the interview in Kazan, but they are there with him. At least get your own place bro and get them a place. He needs to grow up.

I'm surprised by the comments here. Sardar is our most talented player and has always fought for his country. How is it ok to insult him or his mother?

He has every right to choose his personal life and time with his mother over team melli after all these insults he received so far.

Yes, he's emotional but I have a question for everyone here. When you know someone is emotional, do you try to cheer that person up or will you continue saying things to make the situation worse?

He’s such a pathetic attention seeker. He couldn’t even bare Gucci getting some attention with his retirement. Weakass bache naneh. He’s destined for failure.

People sent him a collage/compilation of videos where heart-felt messages were being sent. People came out in droves supporting him and many heralded his performance vs. Portugal.

He came out saying thank you and we are all good after this came in.

It's not OK to insult anyone's mother. But this is football, players will swear at your kids on the field and social media is a cesspool (not just in Iran) of idiotic and bikhaar people who are angry and spiteful. Either accept this or get off social media.

I think you are getting confused bro. Playing hard and being strong has nothing to do with what I am talking about. Azmoun plays hard and has a lot of strength to run up and down the field. What I say is that we are generally speaking and culturally soft hearted and forgive and forget quickly and all that. But it goes without saying that there are always exception to any rule. Besides being emotional and soft isn't an insult. if you feel insulted sorry.

                              Hopefully CQ continues with that.

I should have used examples of non football related Iranians in my reply to exemplify our culture, but maybe I did misunderstand your initial post. Apologies. Thanks for explaining.
