3 More players retire from TM - Montazeri, Dejagah, Shojaei

I just checked their Instagram pages and I don't see any of the three players mentioned with any official statements regarding quitting the national team. Is there another source for this?

Understandable at their age. I appreciate the gesture and all that they have done for TM. Hopefully, they will be honored. This makes the transition to the new guys easier

No, He won't be invited.

When opportunities had been given to young defenders they have done well, no need to invite a 37 years old player ( by then he would be almost 37).
CQ prefer PAG, Hosseini, Cheshmi, and Khanzadeh and he can invite young and strong defender Salimi instead of Hosseini and there are other young prospects.

Honestly a fit dejagah and shojaei could be useful for Asian cup. We don’t really have anyone who can distribute , and Shojaei would have less defensive duties than World Cup so less of a liability
