We are our own worst enemies !!!

A lot of people think that world against us , the Arabs are against us , everyone is against us .
That is not true , everything bad that has ever happened to us was self caused .

Especially regarding our football, team Melli , and clubs .
The people in charge have too much self greed and value personal profit
    Over results, and self progression

We are a country that all of our hopes and dreams hang in the balance of one man CQ..
No other country is like that

Why is it that is if Portugal, Spain Morocco or any other country lose their head coach they will still be able to put a good team respectable performance..

Well, Morocco didn’t lose their coach, and they put on a lousy performance

Morocco out played everyone in the group and if there was truly a fair VRS system they would should have beaten both Spain and Portugal..

I think you have a point a_m jaan, that we seldom take responsibility for where we are and we often criticize our 'enemies' for many (if not all) of our problems ... and ... there are many strong positive points about the Team Melli's performance in World Cup 2018 that I rather keep in mind than forget. I also agree that we are too dependent on CQ and this reflects the overall lack of effective management in all aspects of life in Iran including football. It will take time and a lot of hard work in the years to come to change. This was an overall successful campaign and I think the key goal now should be winning the Asian Cup next year in Dubai to continue a positive trajectory.

Well neymar is like a god in brazil ! the whole country's hopes and dreams hang in the balance of one man : Neymar

Same goes with Argentina ! Its messi

Same goes with portugal its Ronaldo

Do you honestly think these team will survive without these men ?? We saw what happened in 2014 when neymar got injured and missed germany game!

Ours used to be ali daei and now its CQ ! ali daei was and still is so loved in iran that people asked him to run up for presidency or AFC President . HE refused!

Football is not just a sport anymore. Its politics , its power its money ......

              um, no .....

no team in the history of western civilization has ever outplayed everyone by losing 2 games out of 3 and only showing 1 point with a draw........not possible..... if you don't believe me, do a google search :-)

if VAR was fair, our goal would have counted, as CQ said it never touched Azmoun so it wasn't offside

Diego Costa would have gotten red card for stomping on Beiro... twice. so we would have tied and possibly beaten Spain

if VAR was fair, since Ronaldo got carded, it should have been a red, he also did a handball so that should have been another yellow/red and due to the nature of Quresmas charge at Eza, that should have been another red. then. you can look at the 3 foul portugal committed on us in the 18. so it should have been 9 v 11 and we should have gotten 3 more PK since those tackles were the same nature as the Ronaldo penalty. so we should have beaten Portugal too
