Just shows you what our players can do when they leave the b.s. and headaches living in IR Iran, the everyday sociopolitical issues, the hashieh associated with our football, the social media drama etc. - Farshad never really stood out in the Persian Gulf Pro League, but now he's standing out in a better league because he can just focus on football. The passes were pristine. Tough luck on not having his rocket at the end go in.
He's improved leaps and boundsLast edited by Tehranto; 09-03-2018, 06:04 AM.

New interview with Farshad by Polish media:
"Farszad Ahmadzade: now they hate me in Iran
The transfer to Poland was consulted with Ali Daeim. He is friends with the volleyball player PGE Skra Bełchatów. He is a big star in Iran, but he still had to do two-year military service. Farszad Ahmadzade - the first Iranian in Ekstraklasa - has been in Poland for more than two months and so far sees only positives. - The level of the ball here is two or three times higher than in Asia - says a brilliant winger in an interview with SPORT.TVP.PL.
Radosław Przybysz, SPORT.TVP.PL: - You've been in Poland for over two months. How are you living here?
Farszad Ahmadzade: - It can be hard. I left a lot of friends in Tehran. Sometimes I feel a bit alone, after training I usually just relax and watch movies. My brother is studying and can not come to me. Maybe in two months my mother and dad will visit me. But I have no problem with that. I am not looking for friendship, I have an approach like that. I'm fine as it is. In addition, Wrocław is a beautiful city. I like it here.
- How do you find yourself in the team?
- The atmosphere is very good, everyone is happy to help. We work together, we win and lose together. I did not have any special "baptism" at the beginning, I just walked into the locker room and introduced myself. And now, after two months, I finally managed to learn the names of all my friends. It was not easy.
- You are friends with Milad Ebadipur, volleyball player of PGE Skra Bełchatów. Have you already had the opportunity to meet?
- He's one of my closest friends. He comes from the same city, we know each other from childhood, we went to school together. But now we can not meet, because he returned to the country after the end of the volleyball season, there is a break for the world championships. However, we plan to visit each other in about a month - he is supposed to come to a match to Wroclaw, and I to Bełchatów.
- Did you ask him for his opinion before transfer to Poland?
- Yes, because he got here a year earlier. I gave him the name of Silesia, and he learned a lot about the club, his manager helped him, they gained a lot of information for me.
- Which discipline is more popular in Iran - volleyball or football?
- My hometown - Urmia - is a volleyball town. Five players from now play in the national team. Part of the country is "volleyball", but the "football" is much bigger. The number one in the country is football without a doubt.
- Have you consulted the decision to transfer with someone else?
- Yes, with Ali Daeim, the legend of our football. He was my coach in Persepolis Tehran in the past. We only worked together for a month, because it so happened that I had to go on a two-year loan to the Military Sazi military club to serve. Before coming to Silesia, I asked him for his opinion and assured me that it is worth moving to Europe.
- Persepolis is the largest club in Iran?
- Yes and one of the largest in Asia. There are clubs from Saudi Arabia, from China, from Japan, but Persepolis is the most popular. His players are stars in Iran. When I returned to Persepolis from Tractor, the team took the 14th place in the table. It was taken over by Croatian coach Branko Ivankovic and we quickly started to win. In the end, we missed one goal ... We lost the title by the difference of one goal! But in the next two seasons we were already the best.
- And then you decided to look for happiness in Europe.
- Yes, because in Iran I've won everything I could. I wanted to take another step.
- The fans probably were not happy?
- Now they hate me! Before I left I had 1.2 million followers on Instagram, and just after the transfer, I lost 100,000. Underneath every photo they write terrible things in the comments. But I like them anyway! For how devoted they are.
- I watched them at the World Cup, how they are having fun, celebrating, also outside matches, on the streets of Moscow.
- They were partying because in Iran they can not do all this. In our country, women can not come to stadiums. No wonder that when they went to Russia and saw another world, they found new things and let their reins go.
- Especially that the players have not disappointed them.
- Yes, before the World Cup, the whole world thought that we could not play football. And we showed a really good side in a difficult group with Spain, Portugal and Morocco. We scored four points and we could not go further, and in other groups such achievements would give us promotion. The players fought great for our country.
- How would you compare the level of football in Iran and Poland?
- In Poland, it is two or three times higher.
- Really? It is hard to believe when looking at our Ekstraklasa.
- Really. There are not many strong teams in Asia. We do not have good stadiums, we do not have VARs. In Iran there are maybe two, three playgrounds suitable for the game, comparable to those from Ekstraklasa. Here everything is well organized, workouts are on time, payouts too. You can only focus on the ball, on development. In Asia, the reality is different.
- But here you talk all the time about the infrastructure, not about the football level.
- I have the impression that in Asia footballers do not fight for victories. There is less determination, less running. As I watch teams matches from eg Arab countries, I do not see such involvement there as it is here. It's different in Poland. You must be physically strong, but also technically.
- And how can one compare life outside the field in Poland to that in Iran?
- I have much more peace here. When I go to a restaurant for dinner, no one records me, does not take pictures of me. In Iran, after weak results, you should not show up in the city, because people are mad at you, insult you, think that you have no right to have a private life if you lose. They want to know everything about you, they interfere in your personal matters. It's tiring in the long run.
- Let's go back to reality in Iran. How does life in this country really look like?
- There are often opinions that we are a country of terrorists, that we only want to fight. It is not. Iranians are good people. You can spend a month with us without money or a hotel, because everyone will help you in everything. It is a good country to live. Ask Flavio Paixao. We all know him as Flavio Lopesa. He played for Tractor, in the city of Tebriz. Everyone loved him there, he is a legend. He is a very funny guy. It reminded me of history, how the city was visited by a small earthquake and the ceiling in the house where Flavio slept, a small scribble appeared. He was so frightened that he slept on a park bench for a week!
- What were the reactions in Iran when you decided to choose Silesia and just the Polish league?
- Some said I should stay or go straight to one of the strongest leagues. But they do not understand that you can not get straight from Iran to a big club. Few people in Europe are watching Asian games. You have to take the first small step, and Poland is the perfect place to do it. Some people just talk, they do not know life, they do not know me, they do not know the ball. I had offers from Turkey and Arab countries, but I did not want to go there. I talked to Milad, Daeim, my friends and manager, and decided to move here. Although not everyone liked it.
- In Poland, you have not encountered any unpleasant situations in relation to Middle Eastern beauty?
- No, quite the opposite. People tell me that I look like a Pole, but I think they are exaggerating. There were no annoyances, not even the smallest ones. Wroclaw is a great place to live.
- How do you like Polish cuisine?
- I often cook at home because I love Iranian dishes. There is a lot of rice in them, I noticed that there is much less in your kitchen. My pork chops are what they like for me.
- If you like cooking so much, maybe you should open an Iranian restaurant in Wrocław?
- No way. I would not have clients. I have the impression that everyone here eat very healthy, and in our kitchen uses a lot of oil. Everything fried is delicious. Maybe that's why Polish chops taste so.
- Maybe you better not tell this trainer. By the way - how do you communicate?
- The assistant speaks English and everything explains to me and Augusto.
- Are you satisfied with what Śląsk presents at the beginning of the season?
- We play well, but we are lucky. In many matches we had many opportunities, but we were losing anyway. In football, however, no one gives points for a good game, only for victories. We need to work harder and take advantage of our chances. Will be better.
- In the July match against Cracovia you flashed with a spectacular reception of the ball, the recordings of which went all over Europe. When can we expect more performances?
- Only when we win. I can afford such games only if the result is positive. If we were losing and the trick would not work out, everyone would be furious.
- We are talking ahead of Friday's match with Zagłębie Lubin. What do you expect from the Lower Silesia derbies?
- Derby in Iran is always crazy, I played in eight. A month before the derby everyone is talking about them, and a month after them - if you lose - you can not go out on the street, or calmly return to the pitch, because furious fans come to training and give the team "talks". It is hard. I do not know how it is here ...
- ... certainly not that.
- But derby is always a derby. They are always important for the fans. I hope that we will win and at least make our WKS fans happy."

A recent article about Farshad and his club situation. The coach states that he does not provide enough in defense and that his fitness is not upto par. He most recently featured for the reserves to keep match fit:
"SILESIA: THEY MUST BRING THE "PRINCE OF PERSIA" TO THE VERTICAL. FARSHAD DOES NOT WORK IN DEFENSE
Farshad Ahmadzadeh was to replace Jakub Kosecki. Meanwhile, he is starting to lose the fight for a place with inexperienced players.
In September, Farshad Ahmadzadeh lost his place in the basic composition of Silesia. Currently, he stops entering even from the bench, and a strong signal of how weak his position in the team is now, was the last match in Zabrze. Coach Tadeusz Pawłowski, aware of the problems of Górnik with the protection of the flank, preferred to put on the wing for 22-year-old Daniel Łuczak. That "Danny" failed and was changed in a break is one thing. The second - that even in this situation Farshad spent the whole meeting on the bench.
Speaking of a footballer with experience in the Asian Champions League, which was to compensate Śląski for the sale of Jakub Kosecki. The Iranian player is playing so little that last weekend he was delegated to perform in the reserves to stay in any match rhythm. He scored 90 minutes in a meeting with MKP Wołów, won by Silesia II 4: 1.
- The physical aspect plays the main role in its current situation. We must wait for the winter preparatory period. We can already see that he is not fining himself with us. Here you need to be fast, strong and work on the defensive. With us on the pitch there is no place for unilateral footballers who are not involved in defense - says the coach Tadeusz Pawłowski.
"Prince of Persia" is under the game as long as the inhabitants of Wrocław have the ball. He was, among others, in a recent match against Płock (0: 3). On many players, Silesian fans poured slops then. The Iranian hid in the far plan so effectively that almost no one noticed what he was doing after entering the bench. The pitch on his side should look like after October excavations. A player should want to show that he does not deserve a reserve role. Meanwhile, the guests were coming out with counter-attacks, and the Iranian winger was walking. This is the case, for example, the third goal of Giorgi Merebaszwili. It could have been stopped earlier if Farshad had run after him. Georgian, before he was under the goal of Silesia, defeated about 60 meters.
Ahmadadeh's contract is valid for one year with the option of extending for another season, if the former Persepolis FC player plays a good many minutes. For now it is on the "best" way to go in June."

Recent article/interview by Polish media:
"Farshad Ahmadzadeh. Like in the Persian film ...
My dad came to Iran from Turkey, grandfather from Azerbaijani Baku, and he from Tehran. To Wroclaw.
Oporowska 62. Here, for years, was the home of Śląsk Wrocław. It's still there, but it's administrative. In front of the entrance to the club building a group of young footballers dressed in tracksuits with the logo of the academy. Between cars set behind one of the grandstands, which the oldest matches do not remember, brunet goes dark. Farshad Ahmadzadeh. The first Iranian in the history of the Polish league. Enters the VIP room with a view of the pitch.
Act 1. Persian haven The
dictaphone begins to count down the talk time.
- Do you know what day we have tomorrow?
- Yes. We also celebrate similar holidays in Iran. I would compare our Nouruz to your Christmas. Families visit each other, my father visits his father. Quite a lot of free days, just for meetings.
Nouruz celebrate in the spring equinox. Persian New Year, tradition with ancient roots is cultivated outside of religious frames. Although there are enough fingers of one hand to count how many millennia it has passed, historians have not yet determined whether they are five or three.
This holiday was not taken over by any of Iran's ethnic groups. And the vast area of the state has become home to many of them. The city of Farshada is separated from Tehran, the capital, almost 800 kilometers. To the Iranian-Turkish border is only 75. Mountain roads. To Azerbaijan a little over 200. He was born in a small Urmia. - North differs from the south, east from the west. People are different.
The ancestors wandered until they settled in the "city on the water" (that is the word Urmia), in today's western Azerbaijan. Close to the neighboring countries, also to the last Kurdistan. And it is not surprising that the family tied the lot with this place. - Daddy is Kurd, mother of Turkey. In Iran, this is the order of the day, no one sees the problem. We live normally. I speak a bit of Kurdish in Turkish, fluent and normal. Once my father came to Iran and we had her father on our side. With Baku, I think so. Parents know the history of our family better. I did not even have so many opportunities to talk to them about it. At the age of 15, I left for Tehran - summarizes the intricate family history.
Act 2. On one side the church, on the other a mosque.
He was brought up at the meeting point of cultures, religions and states. Where one temple is adjacent to the other, the follower of one faith has a different believer as a friend.
- Many Kurds, Turks, Jews, people from all over the world live. There is one place in our city. Two mosques stand, next to the church. In the past, the area was inhabited by many Armenians. Before I left Urmia for Tehran, we had five Armenian districts in the neighborhood. I even remember a few words. Oh, that's "good morning". We are friends with Armenians, Jews, Kurds, friendship with the Turks.
The next questions and answers do not explain everything anyway. For the attention that this ethnic puzzle difficult to solve, responds with laughter.
-I am an Iranian, I was born in Iran. I'm Persem, but Turkish Pers and Kurdish Persem. I learned Persian, Turkish mother, Kurdish dad. And now I'm trying to learn Polish!
Turkish, Azerbaijani, Persian, Kurdish and English. He mastered five languages. It is harder with Polish. But he knows a few words that "come in handy on the grass." He knows that they will help him such as "time", "left", "right". A diet, a fast from the world to dusk, can be harmful.
He begins to talk about Ramadan.
- I am a professional, so when I train I can not fully comply with the requirements. But Ramadan is not just food. This is not the point. The idea is to renounce lies, bad deeds. People in the world think that for a month we do not eat or drink until sunset. - straightens.
Act 3. Such a footballer's life
His Persepolis FC plays in the final of the Asian Champions League. The most difficult was in May after the first confrontation with Al Jazira 2: 3. In revenge, at Azadi, he scored a goal at 2: 1. The Red Army scored in the 89th minute. Both matches began with "10" on the back. He says that the Iranian ball is different. Not everywhere has Byzantine features like in Tehran.
- Persepolis FC is a great club. There is everything you need. Professional, with great turf, coach from Croatia. But then you go to the province, to a smaller city, and you can not give it well. The fields are poor. Five, maybe even six clubs do not even pay players. And if you want to grow, you must have a being.
He spent nearly ten years in Tehran.
-Why did you leave? - there must be a question.
- We were champions for two years. I've actually achieved everything. However, I needed a new challenge. I wanted to taste Europe. I like European style and professionalism. It's different in Iran. The game is 80 percent, here 100 percent have to be given in training, and in the match 120.
- In the stands also different?
- Silesia has many fans. But others. They just love the club here. They love footballers in Iran. They could die for us, they declare it constantly. They shout that they love us. When we go out to eat something, come over, ask for a photo, feel sympathy.
Azadi is one of the largest stadiums in the world. Almost five decades have passed since the inaugural match. Then came the last Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. It used to be over 100,000, now officially 80. It fills up.
- There is one such match. Derby, red-blue. A month before people live it. They are shouting out: we are with you! But when you lose, they are angry. They can offend you on the street. Such is the ball, such a footballer's life, you have to enjoy the game - he says. It's a match that players say championship means nothing if you lose it.
The Iranian atmosphere can be thick. But the limits of the stadium fans try not to exceed. "No, no violence, no fights. Bringing flares is forbidden, follow this." This is the most important match of the season, but there is room for compassion.
The dance of death will get everyone. When he took Persepolis FC Hadi Norouzi in 2015, in the 24th minute (with this number put on a T-shirt) the blue and the red rose to applaud him.
Act 4. Friendship through the net
We talk about Bełchatów. This is an important place for Farshad, even though he only knows the name and knows that the journey from Wroclaw takes several hours.
- Do you sometimes go to Bełchatów? - he asks.
- I was a mine town near Lodz.
- Is the volleyball team good?
- Excellent, probably the best in Poland in recent years. In Iran, volleyball must be popular.
- Not so much. But in my city like this. It's a volleyball town.
Milad also grew up in Urmia. They've known each other for 12 years. In 2017 Milad, bearing the name Ebadipour, went to Skra Bełchatów. When Farshada invited Silesia, he had someone to send to investigate. -His school was next to mine. We've often met. Only he played volleyball, I played football. I asked him, he said that he is very good in Poland.
They have not met here yet.
Akt 5. A ticket to the Iranian cinema.
On the knees there is a telephone. Every now and then the screen lights up, throwing out notifications. His profile on Instagram is followed by a million people. After arriving in Wrocław, he did not have anybody to speak to. - I was not afraid of loneliness in Poland. When I was 15, I went to Tehran to play football, I lived alone - she returns with memories.
It's a bit of its own, some tourist paths. The market, ZOO, which praises very much. He's far to Milad, so he makes friends in Wrocław: -I am a Muslim. We have Kurdish Muslims, just like Turkish. But I feel at home in Wroclaw. The weather, people, is almost like in my city, only without my family and friends. I want to stay here. A month ago I met one Iranian. He arrived 15 years ago. He lives with his family, speaks Polish, married a Polish woman. They did not speak Persian, I talked to a friend and he explained it to his family - talking about it, he is like a child.
Sometimes nostalgia breaks through the smile. Thoughts about Persepolis FC, Tehran.
-When I played there, it was full. I went out, recognized me, and I was respected. Nobody knows me here. I did not have anyone to talk to in Persian. I sat in the apartment, watched movies. But thanks to that I can concentrate on football. After three months I live as before.
- Movies. What is your favourite?
- I 'll watch everyone.
- I'm asking because ...
- ... I used to play one.
- For fun?
- I never do anything for fun. I tried it, because maybe when I stop playing football, I'll deal with acting. Interesting and difficult experience. At six in the morning I went to a movie set, then to trainings. It can not be combined.
Question about routine dreams, professional response. Football, career, its development. He gets up and looks through the glass on the afternoon sunlit grass. Personnel like from a movie about an Iranian player."
