Very good club, i lived in Turkey for while and Trabzon is the 4th best club behind the big 3. Many fans in smaller cities. Loved by even some Fener and Gala fans because they actually develop players as well.

        Is good transfer?
Yes!!! He will be playing with familiar players too football fans like João Pereira, Ogenyi Onazi (Lazio), Fabián Castillo (FC DALLAS PLAYER LOVE THIS GUY), Tomáš Hubočan, Juraj Kucka (AC Milan player), and Burak Yilmaz (Good to see him back in Turkey lol).

I also personally listed Trabzon as my Holiday destination during the winter because of this!

              ?????

We had a defender who played 6 seasons in Serie A and won player of the year for his club in 2005

I don't know if you are being sarcastic here but in the case that this is serious:
First of all the fact that 1 defender in 2001-2008 (you mean Rahman Rezaei) played in Italy just is a pro-argument for what I was saying.
If there is only one CB in the last 18 years playing in a decent European League it shows that there is not a single club in europe that sees the quality that Iranian Defenders have
Now it is the only time I even remember that there are rumours of Iranian CB's going to europe !

Man i don't get why people are so happy about this! The turkish teams are trying to take advantage of our players (receiving transfer fee)! These players played in world cup where our team is ranked 2nd in defending after russia ! PAG was one of the best defenders in world cup and people are happy that his gonna move to a team that was ranked 5th in turkish league last season!

PAG is 26 YO and if he wants to play in top european leagues this is the time! anytime later than this age i doubt he can get far.

Im sure he can get into at least one lowest ranked Serie A team. He just need a good agent ! he has the potentials .
I hope this doesn't turn out to be another Ramin rezaeian and mehdi taremi (Rizespor) mistake !

Thank you for quoting Gol bezan and PFDC ! If you guys get Pouraliganji that would be a major coup. But can you please elaborate on the situation of current central defenders at Trabzonspor?? I am aware the Hubocan and Durica have separated from the team, but what players do you expect to start this coming season in that position? I also heard Trabzonspor are close to signing Kone from Malaga, he is also a solid defender. Will hosseini be a starting player? If Pouraliganji ends up going I am sure he will start immediately. If both Puraliganji and Hosseini start together that would be excellent for our national team, but although I think Trabzonspor are a good team, I feel like Pouraliganji may get better offers this summer from top leagues.

agreed that PAG can do better, and I think he actually will get more offers. But on hosseini, who said he had other offers? The guy played two games in a WC and one season in SS, and no WCQ or friendlies of note for TM, why would he have better offers than 5th in Turkey, a team with great tradition and history of getting young players to top european leagues? His other offers were probably mid table belgian or dutch, and I would say this move is better both financially and on a professional level as well for his development. Just a much tougher league, but the specific team Trabzonspor also has emphasis on young player development which means that for Hosseini it really is an excellent move.

PAG has been performing at a high level for many years now. Before WC his agent (also agent of ARJ), said PAG and Milad have a lot of interest from top Western European Leagues, but that it was very hard to scout them in person bc no scouts go to Qatar or Chechnya. He said both had been extensively scouted through video technologies by various teams. Their solid performances at WC vs high calibre opposition makes in high stress matches were almost certainly seen in person by interested parties, and I think we should expect some more offers for these two from top 5 leagues, maybe portugal as well.

But again, for Majid, it is a fantastic move.

we had 3 defenders last year. Hubocan, Durica and Ugur. Hubocan's loan contract ended and return to France. I guess Durica ended his carreer. Ugur wants very big money from us. Yeah our managers interest with Kone. I fear his game style. If I Trabzonspor's coach, I do Morteza-Majid defender line. These transfers will be guide for Iran market at future years.

wow! Very interesting. Still not convinced Morteza goes (we call him PAG) but if he does seeing both together in club will be something very unique for our national team. We see how Uruguay have the best defensive structure in the world, starting from the two center defenders Godin and Gimenez who play together at club level. Also for many years Juventus backline was fantastic for italian national team before they got too old (Bonnuci, Barzagli, Chiellini- BBC). Same with Nesta and Maldini from AC Milad before them, an Verthongen and Alderwiereld for Tottenham and Belgium. IF these two end up playing together at club level their chemistry and understanding in the national team would be amazing and maybe impossible for most opposition to get past.
