To make an impact, I did not expect two goals (like Murray v WBA) but Alireza Jahanbakhsh was not required to do any defending, but had enough of the ball around the edge of the box to offload a shot and/or a key pass, which he didn't.

Most of his touches came with his back to the net. He is not a target man with the physicality to hold up play and open team mates on the wings. If this is what CH brought him to do then the man needs to be Fired ASAP!! You don't buy a sports car to do off roading and then complain about the cars performance.

I actually figured his role was to work in between the two defensive lines of Burnley and spread the ball outwide on the left to Andone (?). Admittedly, their crosses were poor in that time from both of them.

Murray in the centre, Knockaert on the left. Replaced Locadia in the second striker role on the right hand side.

Expected to cut inside (shoot or find Murray) or feed Bong on the overlap. Or possibly lay the ball into the path of Pröpper or Bissouma, then run into space for the return ball (beware of offside).

Murray was more of a distraction, so a shot from the right corner of the penalty area or a slalom dribble were the unlikely best hope.

Prem is heavily overrated and has been for a decade now. Last five cl winners were Spanish, with a German team before that.

I think generally the arguments in favor of the premier league being the 'top' league are about the level of competitiveness, which is why it's usually not the best argument to point to UCL winners, the last 3 all being Real Madrid.

Between the top 6 teams in the premier league, any one of them could make a cameo in UCL semifinals. I really don't think the same could be said about any other top EU league. Now, one big difference in my opinion is that the sort of super-teams like PSG/Bayern/Madrid aren't as prevalent in the EPL. Maybe an argument can be made that Man City is practically on that level; watching them play certainly confirms that impression.

Regardless, setting aside the minutia of 'is this league better than that,' we can all agree that the top leagues in Europe are any of Englands, Italy's, Germany's, France's, or Spains. That being the case, it would be wonderful for any of our players to feature in any of these leagues.

The top league in Europe is Spain without contest. Then follow Italy and Germany. France isn't a top league, just on par with Portugal and Russian league.

Brighton's best foreign players have come from Valencia: Vicente (now retired), Bruno, Montoya (not so good).

Lower La Liga not so good as lower Bundesliga though: Hemed, Andone (maybe) vs Pascal Groß.

Players say the Premier League is harder than la Liga.
It seems as though there are no easy games in the EPL, unlike Spain.

I prefer players from leagues in Spain, Germany, England in that order, then Belgium, France, Italy, Holland.

Son is on beast mode right now... 4 games since AFC19 and he scored 4goals. 50Mio Euros worth on Transfermarkt and will be for sure updated to 70/80Mio.
Lets see if Jahanbakhsh can do anything near this.
