well unlike some I think he had better offers bc hashemi himself said that the chance of him going to trabzonspor or AZ Alkmaar is very slim. This would only be the case if better interest/offers were out there. For whatever reason they didnt work out ( I think financial), and so PAG took the Trabzon offer which was probably the highest anybody would pay him in europe. With both PAG and Majid (all turkish press have said that ideally, when both are completely match fit, Karaman (coach) would like to pair PAG and Majid), starting together this could be incredible for TM. So many top CB Partnerships in world football come in part from the defenders being paired together at club level as well. Examples include Godin + Gimenez at Atl. Madrid and Uruguay, Vernthongen and Alderweireld at Belgium, Bonnuci Barzagli Chiellini at Juve and Italy, etc.
If both play and are at full fitness, then Trabzon will have a very solid defense to compliment their talented offensive players. They will be under the microscope of many scouts this year due to Yazici and Omür attracting interest from all over europe, and as we saw with Yokuslu's move to Celta Vigo, clearly many teams are keeping an eye on them. So if Majid and PAG perform very well it is totally possible they go to bigger teams even after 1 year, likely after 2. And btw, PAG isnt really old for a CB. Currently, many top teams are trying to get Domagoj Vida, a 29 yr old CB who plays for Besiktas, and before that spent many years with Dinamo Kyiv, a team below or on the same level as Trabzonspor.
Overall, not the best move for PAG, given other possibilities, but if he starts with Majid, it could prove to be a massive move for TM.

Burak
Pouraliganji at Istanbul today. Trabzonspor gave time to him until tonight. I guess he will accept our offer and sign contract today or tomorrow. I know, he will earn 750K euros (no taxes).

We should support our players who try to make it in Europe instead of bashing them. Blame it on top league clubs who are blind to see the quality of our players.

CQ defends with 10 players. That means individual defensive performances are devalued. Sure Ezzi and PAG might have done a decent job at stopping Spanish and Portuguese players, but that had alot to do with the fact that the opponent's attackers had no where to go since they were surrounded by Iranians. Now if PAG and Ezzi made these same stops/tackles while playing normal football, then we would see them signing with top 4 leagues.
