On a serious note, both Perspolis and Esteghlal are currently terrible, playing unattractive and shaky football. Hope next week they won't get humiliated in ACL.

Esteghlal wasted so many opportunities it's not funny. Not to mention a very questionable off-side call when Tabrizi scored and a pk not given to us. Can't believe Tabrizi missed that open netter. Foolad wasted so much time as well, especially their gk who even eventually got booked for it.


Very very frustating game today, which should have ended in an easy victory for us had we converted at least one of those many chances.


Ali Karimi and Tabrizi were really disappointing today. They have not been able to replace Thiam and Omid Ebrahimi yet. Especially Thiam's loss has been hard for us. We create lots of chances but lack a decent finisher. Haji is not on Thiam's level!

Thiam was above PGPL standards. The guy was a beast and knew how to score. The biggest blow to lose such player of such magnitude!

Tehran – Iran’s Interior Minister Abdulresa Rahmani has threatened games behind closed doors should anti-government protests continue at football matches, local news reports said on Tuesday.

“Security in the stadiums is important for us and should some fans want to endanger it then some games will take place without spectators,” Rahmani said.

The sports protal VarzeshIII said that the sports and interior ministries were introducing better control mechanisms in stadiums.

Two weeks ago fans protested in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium around the first division match between Esteghlal and Tractor Sazi.

Videos circulated on social media showed fans chanting “Death to the dictator” in the direction of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei who along with President Hassan Rawhani is blamed for the worsening economic problems in the country.
