This game just cemented that ever since Ronaldo left my Manchester United he's been a right old piece of s***.Last edited by perspolis#1; 08-17-2018, 07:06 AM.

No matter who got what card or who should have scored and who should't have score, up until the very last touch of tournament for TM, we still had our own fate in our own hands. We are currently witnessing a revolution in Iranian football. Team Melli has never been stronger than it is today, and we will only get better.

I don't buy this "FIFA needs the ratings so they help teams through" argument whatsoever. However, I do believe that referees get intimidated by big name players and teams.
You're telling me that FIFA wouldn't want Iran - a nation full of the most passionate supporters in the world, a massive underdog story - to be the tournaments cinderella story on headlines across the world? FIFA would drool for this! All Neutral fans would have been TM fans because everyone loves the underdog, especially on the world stage. We are currently witnessing a revolution in Iranian football. I don't think we were unlucky in this WC. If one team was really unlucky it was Morocco. We scored an OG at 90 minutes against Morocco, scored from PK against Portugal which was a questionable call. Against Spain, as much as it hurts the offside was a right call tbh. Having said all that we got unlucky to not advance with 4 points.
Regarding to Taremi miss, it was hard to score from that angle, the only thing i blame him for is, he didn't even have a shot on target in that case, he could have a shot and hope for rebound at least.

Still I don't believe we got screwed. Morocco did get screwed tho! Our penalty was 50/50, but after f*cking us over with not giving Ronaldo the red card, he didn't dare to not give a penalty. The Carvalho I haven't seen with a good angle yet, but the other 2 for sure were no penalty.
Also our goal against Spain was clearly hands and/or offside. The VAR tried to help us out there as the ref already called it offside, but obviously the VAR couldn't decide otherwise.
4 times the VAR was used during our matches, 3 times with a correct call (if we say the penalty was correct) and once also with a correct call, but the ref just was a coward. 1 time the VAR should have been used, but wasn't.
All in all I wouldn't say we got robbed and like somebody said we robbed ourselves twice but not scoring those late goals.

HELL NO!!
you think FIFA gives a shit about Iran? iran doesn't fill their pockets with dough, so they could givetwo shits about us. why do you think saudi got the easiest group and the opening match? while we were handed the hardest group? $$$$$
they wanted russia, croatia, iceland, etc to be the underdog story
icelands goalie saves mess's PK and all the pundits loose their shit, biero saves ronaldos PK, nobody gives a shit, they don't even credit his save, they call it a ronaldo miss. to me if ronaldo missed the PK then he would have shot the ball over the net.
they couldn't even make money off of an iran underdog story lol. look how hard it is for our players to play in top european clubs. had Ghoddos represented sweden he would be playing for a top club in the big 4. had PAG been from lets say south korea, then top teams would be calling him, not some mediocre belgium team that nobody has heard ofSHOW TIME!

Thank you Kiarash jaan for posting this. I loved the part when the first panel member praised TM commitment and passion. It gave me a newly found strength in supporting TM.
I have had my heart broken so many times that by now I am quite used to hurting I could not watch the replays of the Argentina game for six months after WC 2014 (I was in the stadium and uncalled penalty on Ashkan took place right in front of where i was sitting). A family member praised my continuous commitment to TM in face of disappointments when in the middle of the night (where I was watching) we were rubbed against Iraq in AC 2015. Again my heart was broken when Mehdi side-netted a once-in-a-lifetime chance of ultimate glory and I was in the stadium again. I am proud of our TM, I am proud of myself for loving my heritage and loving our TM! Our boys definitely made us proud in Russia and that brings some healing to my broken heart of many years.
