The Costa thing didn't even get reviewed, but again that was clearly a red card as well.

Still I don't believe we got screwed. Morocco did get screwed tho! Our penalty was 50/50, but after f*cking us over with not giving Ronaldo the red card, he didn't dare to not give a penalty. The Carvalho I haven't seen with a good angle yet, but the other 2 for sure were no penalty.
Also our goal against Spain was clearly hands and/or offside. The VAR tried to help us out there as the ref already called it offside, but obviously the VAR couldn't decide otherwise.

4 times the VAR was used during our matches, 3 times with a correct call (if we say the penalty was correct) and once also with a correct call, but the ref just was a coward. 1 time the VAR should have been used, but wasn't.

All in all I wouldn't say we got robbed and like somebody said we robbed ourselves twice but not scoring those late goals.
Check out the tackles on Maradona in 82. As i've said football has always been this way even if by rules it should be red. But with VAR that should be changing

Let’s just say that if it was PAG or any other Iranian player who elbowed Ronaldo or another Portuguese player it would have been a straight red, not even a VAR review. Just a red card.

The powers that Be are always biased towards our NT.

Pretty much seems like he did, look at the second last replay..
There better videos and photos which you could clearly see Azmoun touching the ball. Doesn't even matter if he touched it with his hand or head, both would disallow the goal.

Pretty much seems like he did not. I guess our eyes see it differently. One thing is for sure. If the game was tied and Spain had scored this goal to beat the deadlock you can bet your last dollar that the goal would have been allowed.

Also this was the only time in the tournament where they let the VAR Team make the final decision on the play. All other times the center ref had to go up to the monitor and make the decision himself.

In every game when we had a goal or close call my son and I would be screaming and cheering. On our penalty we barely reacted and then wondered why the ref stopped the game.

It is painful, but it is a matter of the past.

What cost us most, was our own incompetent system/gov which failed to provide sufficient support for preparation. Had we played 2-3 more solid friendlies, the outcome might have been totally different against both Spain and Portugal.

Still very pleased with how we performed given what we have.

We need to move on and learn from this experience.

We were kind of unlucky but we should also appreciate how much over and above the usual level of Iranian football we played. It was amazing. We were neck in neck with every single team, and these were 3 very high level teams. Add to that the fact that we almost knocked out one of Portugal or Spain. That's crazy and makes me so proud. Especially considering how young this team is. I am really excited to see what we do in 2022 when the majority of the better players have hit their primes and the new talent is injected. We are going to be one of the favorites to go far in the tournament.

Maybe this will cheer some of you up! We had the upper hand on them on this day!

We are currently witnessing a revolution in Iranian football. Team Melli has never been stronger than it is today, and we will only get better.

I mean it's one thing to not call the two fouls, but the third one by Carvalho was a 100% penalty. Fucking ridiculous.

The Greece cancellation really hurt us.

I completely agree. The first 2 were not penalties but the Carvalho one was a penalty without a single doubt. That incident happened in the 74th min which would have given Iran plenty of time to score a second. And no VAR review was done for it which clearly showed that FIFA is looking out for Ronaldo and his team.

As the pundit in the video emphasized, since Iran had suffered a couple of injustices and it was injury time, where they knew Iran will have no time to score a second, did they decide to award Iran with a penalty.

This is the first time I am seeing them since the game itself. Back then I didn't think any of them were a PK (including the one we were awarded which seemed like a makeup call for Ronaldo not getting sent off). After watching this video I still think the same.

^Same situation occured during the Arg-Nig game, however this time the Nigarian headed the ball himself (why should this be any different) but it was a way more obvious handball. Var decided not give the penalty.

Also for the people saying FIFA wanted Ronaldo to go through, the same FIFA decided to use the VAR and give Ronaldo the red card (ref just chickened out) and gave us a penalty kick that almost kicked out Ronaldo out of the tournament.
Same FIFA also didn't give Messi the penalty mentioned above that could have very well been the last of Messi on that tournament.
