Are you sure Tractor Sazi wouldn’t be a worse option?
I think I rather have him in IPL than the worst team in Belgium.

Come on, finally our players join clubs where they are appreciated and will play and fans don't ask who that strange player is and if the management is drunk. It's a great first step to Europe and in 2 years he has the chance to join a bigger club. Well done!

I’m sorry but a relegation side should not be considered a good move.

              He’s not ARJ at age 20, he’s 26

Hopefully he gains something from playing in a better league and transfers the fk out of that team.

One of our best players will play for one of the worse clubs among all TM players

Eupen is a strange city. It is located in Belgium but German is the most spoken language there.

On first sight it might be disappointing to see our best defender joining a mediocre team in not a very highly rated league, but realistically is not a bad move.

I am sure if he had any better concrete offer, he would have taken it. Trabzon wanted him but not in his accustomed position and that could have costed his Team Melli career.

Well done to him for going to Belgium ( surely less money than Qatar and Turkey). This will Be his stepping stone.

                    Best wishes to Morteza.

PS: this season is key for our leagionnaires in Belgian market which trusted Iranians. If 2-3 of them manage to shine, it will open many doors to maybe even bigger leagues. Let’s not forget few years back we had 1-2 players in Europe and now almost all Team Melli is there.

not a bad move considering all the (fake?) rumors. Not too fond of having 3 iranians in the same club in Turkey. Want to see if Hosseini get playing time there first. Not sure about scout visibility in Turkey. In belgium he will have more playing time against clubs like Standard, Brugge, Anderlecht, Gent, Genk, Charleroi. Maybe he will have better offers from Belgium/Holland/France after (even if we are still waiting those for Kaveh and Ramin).

I remember he snubbed Belgium some years ago to go to China/Qatar. At that time a transfer to a team like Eupen would have been better but we all know how it is hard for us to transfer in West Europe nowadays.

A last thing, he was buddy with Xavi but I doubt Xavi could help him to go to Laliga while he only played for barcelona (out of reach for iranians). In the other side, Makelele played in a lot of clubs so he could use this in the future.

Good transfer, dont know why people act like he joined Finnish 2nd division. We dont even know the circumstances behind those Trabzonspor interest. He knows, his managers knows. Eupen got a weak defence and Pouraliganji has what it takes to stabilize their defence. He can very soon become one of the best central defenders in Belgium. And im pretty sure he has got a release clause in case of relegation. What else is good about Eupen? Very small city with a very small fan base. They usually got like 3000 fans for their home games. A perfect place for a first step in europe, you can fully concentrate on football.
If he is intelligent, he will try to learn german as good as possible which could be very useful for a later Bundesliga transfer. As some members pointed out, Eupen is a mainly german speaking city right to the german border (next bigger city being Aachen which is like a 15 minutes drive away).

It is all the fault of that retarded agent Amir Hashemi, if Pouraliganji and Jahanbakhsh had an agent like Raiola I know for sure that they were contracted by a good team in Italy.

It's not an ideal move, but I'm sure he had his reasons (which doesn't necessarily have to be money - how do some of you guys know how much the club is paying him?). For sure it's better than staying in Qatar or going elsewhere in Asia. If he plays well, he can move to a better team in Belgium, NL or even Germany and he would be the first Iranian CB after a good while who's playing in a decent European team in his prime.

Looking at our more senior CB players like Seyed Jalal and Pejman who never played in Europe, but still were gold for TM over the last couple of years, it's a step forward that Morteza is making the move to Europe and definitely develop better compared to players starting the Persian Gulf area.

And: as Eupen is just a 1-hr drive from Düsseldorf, I'll go and see him play - ideally even try to meet him personally.

It is funny that absolutely no german club is after iranian players recently, not even a small rumors. In contrary of English, Belgian, French, Spanish, Italian clubs were more or less involved.

Btw, if Ghoddos to Rennes is confirmed, iranians would be in the league of all the semi finalists of the last WC.
