Given CQ's salary, there's only about a dozen managers we can't afford and there are MANY who would love to work in Iran once they do some research for the job and realize how CQ was treated in his tenure.

Only place CQ is revered is in Iran. Hated almost everywhere else he has been.

We qualified for back to back World Cups for the first time ever and also got our highest ever world cup finish (in terms of points) in a pretty formidable group.

2 back 2 back first round exits. Scored a single goal both WC, and set some of the poorest offensive statitics in WC history. Also had one of the most expensive coaches!

Like I said if we don't win this AC...CQ should not be extended. I am a realist...I knew getting out of 14 and 18 WC group would be tough...but AC champs or bust. After all we are #1 in Asia so it should be very doable!

          1. Vahid Halilhodžić

          2. Paul Le Guen

          3. Alejandro Sabella

          4. Jürgen Klinsmann

          5. Winfried Schäfer

All cheaper managers that would achieve equal to what CQ has achieved.

The problem is many of those managers will not come to Iran to live and work because of political reasons and seriously who in their right mind would want to live and work in Iran out all the places to live in. I am trying to say we got very lucky with Carlos...

I'm not sure, ask Tractor Sazi.

I think O-Zone is part of CQ's mind games to get better salary and make the players more hungry so that we would win the AC.

I hate to say this and I hope that I am wrong but I believe CQ will not coach Iran again.

He is a free agent and has not yet signed an extension with IFF.

Even Taj and Soltani also know that they can’t afford him or implement his plans for TM.

Absolutely not. They have no experience coaching a big team. Besides Kia is doing a tremendous job with his academy bringing up young prospects for the future generations, and it would be unconscionable to pull him off that route by the allure of TM. Hashemian needs to prove himself as a coach in Bundesliga first and that's if he can make it there. Unless you want another Daei 2.0 era in TM.

Being a CQ critic does not equate being a supporter for domestic coaches for the top job. It's sad that this point needs to be reiterated constantly for CQ fanatics.

Baba you can't win AC by defending against the likes of qatar & uzbekistan. We're no longer in the same dire situation we were 8 years ago - talent wise - in part thanks to CQ that we NEEDED TO DEFEND. We can bring in a bigger named coach with a better resume that will consolidate the tactics based on the attacking talent that we have.

Can you tell me the last game vs Asian opposition (without an experimental lineup) where we didn't dictate the play?

I have to go back 3 or so years to think of one.

                              1. If you think CQ is too outspoken in his interviews then Vahid is not a replacement.

                              2. This one is so funny to me - nobody here ever even whispered this guy's name until Oman had a good game against us in a friendly vs our B team. Suddenly he is a tactical master.

                              3. Has he coached since the 2014 WC?

                              4. Literally nobody is interested in Klinsmann - and he will demand triple CQ's salary to come to Iran.

                              5. A good half season in PGL and now he is fit for the national team job? Did you know who he was before he came to Esteghlal?

All the suggestions I make you are going to say no... CQ isn't going to be here forever, no managerial place is permanent, once a team makes a good paying offer he will leave. Also in your earlier post you were wondering when was the last time we didn't dictate play, at AC 2015 in our game against Qatar.
