Ali Daei described as 'scary' by Gary Neville

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pni5C26H8Zg

It is just a simple Q&A. Neville mentions Ali Daei as one of the scariest players he came up against in his career. Interesting to see that a legend of a top team (Manchester United) in their prime, was frightened by the sibil and torki gheyrat of Daei. Despite certain opinions of Daei as a human, this is another reminder of how great he was in his prime.

He was indeed a force of nature in his prime. But I think many of us are still annoyed that he pulled a Wenger and played long after his usefulness.

Who has anything bad to say anything about Ali Daei as a human being? He is a fantastic one and charity-giver that loves his country.

One of the many things I was referring to. He has also been incredibly supportive of Team Melli and non-critical.

Ali Daei was pure determination. He had the athleticism and grace of a Canadian lumberjack but did things that left defenders helpless. He had a killer instinct unmatched by any player from Iran before or since. Once he left his feet, you were in trouble. Truly a legend.

All the defenders of the world are scared of Azmoun, specially after seeing his scary tatto "love me as i am".

Not me personally Tehranto, I really respect what he has done for Iran on the global stage. I have heard/seen people bad mouthing him perhaps because of the events at the end of his footballing career and I have misconstrued that as attacks on him as a person. As a kid I idolised guys like Daei, Mahdavikia, Karimi, Abedzadeh etc.

Whatever you can criticise Ali Daei for, you can never criticise his gheyrat.

He is the only player to score 100 international goals at 109 yet people criticize him. Iranians should be proud of him and take pride that he is the international leader. Should Ronaldo break his record, you’ll see how much importance this will have on the Portuguese people. Yet all most Iranians do is complain. At least he fought for TM day in and day out. Whether he was 25 year old rookie or a 37 year old past his prime. A lot of current TM players can learn a thing or two from the sultan *cough* azmoun

Though Ronaldo is not going to break his record...he couldn't even put one past us in the WC (thanks to the heroics of Beira). The only person who may have a shot is the likes of France's Mbappe, who are getting an early start at a young age and look to be a productive member of their national team for a loooong time to come.

A bit upset that Neville didn't remember Ali Daei's name though...Daei should pull a Mohammed Ali on him at the next international charity all-star game: score on him and yell: "WHAT'S MY NAME???"
