Thank you for clearing the record. That's how i remember it as well. Mayeli kohan started the disaster. Daie struggled and Ghotbi did well enough that he was kept on for the Asian championship.

Mayeli Kohan was named coach but didn't manage a single game.
However, I think he would have done better than Daei and Ghotbi.

Some of the players did not like Mayeli Kohan. This would have caused problems for Team-e-Melli. I do not like Mayeli Kohan. He has a mental problem... He is a religious nut.

Why are you commenting on an issue when you don’t even know the correct sequence of the events? Ghotbi came in AFTER Daei had failed miserably and took over a demoralized side that needed at least 7 points to qualify, from one home match and two away matches. And Ghotbi almost did the impossible and qualify us, was it not for a late Park J Sung goal. Now was/is Ghotbi a great coach? No . But was he better than Daei? Absolutely. Daei had no business being the national team manager and used his connections to get the job and cost us a World Cup qualification as a result.

By no means am I saying Daei is good ! You misunderstood ! I was just trying to make one point, I think Ghotbi is overrated, that's all!
