Yes, mentioned in other thread. Their politics are impacting the sports of it all.

Qatar is, I think, will cozy up to Iran.

Venezuela may not be a 5 star team but they sure as hell aren’t an easy opponent. I say in our unfortunate situation a friendly against Venezuela will be good. We played them a year ago and they are a tough and physical opposition.

We are known for being a very physical team so our Asian Cup group opponents as well Japan, South Korea, and Australia will be preparing for a physical encounter when and if we meet them in the knockout stages. So playing Venezuela will benefit us in that regard.

Also, Venezuela may be in a shitty political situation like we are but they still have quality players who face the likes of Messi, Suárez, Dí María, Vidal and etc. every single year. Not to mention they are almost always close to qualifying.

I don’t know about you guys but I’m content about this friendly game.

They almost always finish last in their group. I can only recall once or twice where they had a reasonable chance of qualifying.
I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.
