but work isn't done. this was only the first half. Second half will be in Azadi, where Al Saad scored 3 on SS just a few weeks ago. they know they can come in and do the same again. this isn't over by any stretch of imagination but I am certain that Branco will make sure his players know that too.

I want you guys to know that nothing is said and done just yet. It’s okay to celebrate for now but remember that there’s still one more match to go and we saw what happened with Esteghlal in Azadi. Persepolis is not Esteghlal and they will be ready. But prepare yourselves for a bumpy ride in Azadi as this Al Sadd team still are ahead of us in that they at least play in comfort (meaning equipment and ect.) and they have the kind of players to change results for them.

That being said, I’m very optimistic and think we will pull it off at home!

Why is it that every time an Iranian team (or TM) does well as an underdog and defeats a "sure bet" opponent, the argument is that we did not play football? Here is Al Sadd's coach after the match today:

So what? Are we playing the iranian victim song again? Xavi was a legend in european football, of course european press will be more interested in his team's development than e.g. persepolis achievments. I am saying this as a PP fan.

Ok but development means qualification, eliminatio, wins and loss. The spanish media reports about Xavi's loss. But the french ones did mention their first leg win against SS, mention a random win in the QSL, didn't mention their second leg loss against SS, and didn't report about their first leg loss against PP. The results of East asian CL are mentioned aswell.
