They get a 60,000 USD travel stipend, but finalists each get 2 million USD, and the winner gets an additional 2 million USD.
Of course with sanctions, Perspolis won't be touching this money anytime soon.

They might not have the individual stars, but they have a much better collective team.

Yeah, but the Al-Saad goalkeeper should be considered a semi-pro. He couldn't even take goal kicks and the goal he allowed should have been saved.

J-League is a league where a team with Iniesta and Podolski is facing relegation battle. By the way, Kashima dragged Real Madrid into extra time in the 2016 club WC and they also beat South American champions 3-0. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_F...orld_Cup#Final

So many empty seats in both legs. Can you imagine if Iran had stadiums that looked so modern? Would be packed to the brim every game, especially a semi final.

I think the western teams Persepolis has overcome this time around are at the very least on par, if not superior than KA. I think we are in for a very special year. If Persepolis can win this final and Iran can finally bring home the Asian Cup, it would be magical.

To have stadiums that are world class you need to charge more for tickets than $3-5 charged in Iran. Also some private funds have to be used to make the stadium.

Government money in Iran isn't enough to make world class stadiums.

Will any Kashima players miss the final due to suspension/injury etc?

We just need to tie in the away game and then let them have a dose of 100,000 screaming fans and it will be over. They haven't experienced azadi...I am so happy we finally get to play a japanese team...Hope we face off with japan in the asian cup final as well.... They truly are a very very strong team to beat..

I don't want take anything away from my team, but we got lucky in both matches regarding to the referee, Alipour P.K and foul on him in the first game was very questionable, and yestarday Uzbak ref gave us few breaks, i am sure with any Arab or east easian referees result could have been different and we were not celebrating now!

That's precisely what Persepolis was thinking in 1993 in the Final of Asia's Cup Winners Cup against the Japanese opponent. We tied the first leg in Japan.
I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

conceding 5 goals in the 2 semi finals does not necessarily speak for a waterproof defense. Mensah and Alipour should be able to leverage that for PP

Hopefully Carlos Queiroz goes in attendance to this game and scouts players, similar to how Gareth Southgate. (Not critizing here to be clear)

Kashima are the favourites, for sure but Perspolis has an impressive fighting spirit. PP are a tough team to beat.
Right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must.
