Karim doesnt have any match sharpness rn, hence why he looks awful rusty. He is however our best PK taker, showed it at WC, and for olympiacos he was there pk taker and im pretty sure never missed. But the rebound was inexcusable. Anyways, hopefully todays match helps him towards being truly match sharp. Regardless, dont want him anywhere near starting lineup.

Shojaei on the other hand is a waste of space.

Don't be so damn dramatic. Most teams practice with their penalty takers so there's a pretty good understanding of who is the best at them. There's always a bit of luck involved too so you can't be perfect.

Bro he is actually a really good penalty taker, it's more this one which was atypical.

But beyond that he isn't at the level that he should have been after almost a decade with TM and he can't do anything against higher intensity opponents even if we play in a more attacking way. His performances for TM have on average been well below Sardar Azmoun.

He had a great season with Olympiakos and is a decent player and a lovely guy, but we have to concentrate on others now.

Karim hasn't played a competitive fixture in months, it makes a massive difference. Even after 2-3 games players start to greatly increase their level. Saeid is a good example, his first game for Reading he looked good technically but he was absolutely winded by the 50th minute. 2 games later, already looked much more sharp. Karim is no different.
