We are at our best when we are getting the ball back and hitting on the counter, if it wasn’t for some torrid finishing then we would have won. Some of the build up play at the back was terrible , they didn’t look comfortable there passing the ball around but I know they aren’t out first choice centre backs.

Karim looks rusty in front of goal but he is getting in good positions , get some more game time for Forest and he should come good by the Asian Cup. Masoud looked brilliant with his passing when he came in, thought I was watching Pirlo 😀

Gholizadeh MOTM. My god is he a stud... Mehdi Torabi is also a big stud. His shot should've been a goal if not for the handball. Crazy how talented these Saipa fuckers are.
I also really like Abedzadeh as a #2. One thing u critically need from your #2 keeper is confidence and Abedzadeh has loads of confidence. He could've done better on the goal that Venezuela scored but I honestly think even Beiro would have trouble saving that low shot to the corner.

Another friendly in the books and same old problems. Still we have not found a way to win a match after falling behind a goal and still after a friendly match here we are complaining about how we should've scored 3-4 goals but only ended up with 1.

amir abedzadeh, lets be fair he couldnt see with rezaein in his way for that sole goal.

khanzadeh is pretty solid as well as kanaani.

milad played well but the guy needs to work on his passing soemtimes has his head down like a chicken dribbling to nowhere

azmoun did what he could as a #9, cant blame him he was open few times but he needs the quick passes and plus he almost scored if not for that amazing young keeper venezuela has

Shojaei and dejagah both started to show how to pass around the ball to create space - experience.

anyway it was a great performance today by our boys, controlled well passed well, playd well.

venezuela played decent and we have to give a huge huge mention to their goalkeeper who was amazing!

When Adel commentated our games (like the world cup ones) it was always SO worth it to use Iranian streams even if the video quality was poor. Honestly when it is any other khar, i much prefer the Arab commentary; they are exciting, respectful (when we aren't playing arab opposition at least) and the stream quality is always top notch. A couple racists on this forum will likely be triggered by me saying that but it is so damn true these days. Tuning into IR stream is nothing but frustration, they're even several minutes behind so they can censor venezuelan fans, instead showing the caravan of hijabi's they imported into the stadium.

Thoughts on the game:
Really poor first half, really impressive second half. Was like night and day.
Amiri is honestly such a liability in attack, his passes/crosses are so inaccurate and poorly weighed; just compare the sequences of possession we had in the second to the first and you'll notice how much more intelligent any other attack was.

I don't feel all that confident in Abedzadeh, mainly because he seems rather inexperienced but also because he is weak; it feels like even if he is well positioned, shots will go through him as he does not have strong arms to block them. He is much better than beiranvand in distribution though, he had a couple beautiful balls. BUT Beiro has a number of advantages: his height and strength make him better for stopping aerials and one-on-ones; his throws are a really useful utility for us on the break and we have seen many chances created because of them. Would still bit Beiro as first choice, despite his biggest weakness which is low shots. I really hope that January transfer goes through, though i'm a bit of a pessimist on it.

Taremi is such a mixed bag. He played terribly in the first half. BUT, he made the tackle to create the 1 on 1.. which he made a mess of. He misses some really simple passes sometimes but other times he does a great job of making space. Really can't make up my mind about him other than the fact that he's just consistently inconsistent in any given game

Shojaei actually helped us a TON in buildup play, really loved seeing the two veterans him and ashkan in the midfield together.

Kaveh is very sharp and intelligent, I would prefer to see him playing in place of Taremi ANY day. His pass to Karim in that later chance is a pretty good example of his style.

If I was CQ, I would submit my resignation immediately and let this clown show of a regime and Federation try to win the Asian Cup themselves. The issue isn't receiving criticism as that's part of the job. The issue is that he's flat out being insulted, on national television by the broadcaster of all people. It was incredibly disgusting listening to Khiabani run his mouth off for 90 minutes.

He hasn't had a bad game for TM the entire year. I don't think we play the double pivot in the AC, but what a insurance policy/tactical sub to have in your pocket.

The problem is that he couldn't hit sand if he fell off a camel. He's been terrible lately.

Still far better than freezing up and giving the ball away or falling sleep on the pitch for majority of the time and not being in a position to even receive such a services, like he used to for years prior in TM..!!

he scored a wonderful goal last game out doing just that(Taking a Quick shot and not taking too many extra touches a la Taremi) and i think he also had another great effort on goal too in the last match ...?? although he sure did Rid all over that PK and ensuing rebound as well..!!

fact is for whatever odd reason Carlos likes him and rates his game..!! and gonna keep giving him way more than his fair share of minutes....!! so its definitely encouraging to see an obviously improved version of Karim..!
he certainly isnt as useless of a player as he used to be, as a regular in CQ's TM..!! But his overall Quality as a footballer, is still far from someone who should start and feature regularly in TM, we got far too many superior options at our disposal..!

Gholizadeh carried the team offensively and ebrahimi defensively. Rezaeian has lost his touch, ghoddos doesn’t fit in tactically, Masoud is still the most accurate passer on TM. Everyone else was pretty average.
