The issue isn't receiving criticism as that's part of the job. The issue is that he's flat out being insulted, on national television by the broadcaster of all people. It was incredibly disgusting listening to Khiabani run his mouth off for 90 minutes.

It was a good game in general
With 59 to 41 possession, 9 to 6 shots and 6 to 2 corners, our team excercised its offensive scheme, while in the other hand, Venezuela practiced a defensive situation. It was too obvious that they were capable of penetrating our defence and causing mayhem in that line anytime they desired. In second half after their star Morales came in, they fast forwarded their game and almost scored the second! It was a dangerous 10-15 min. However our defence played OK second half comparing to a disastrous 1st half. Considering both team’s bench playing the game, you can’t really know the real caliber of this game as it could be a different story if both teams (specially Venezuela) played their starting 11.
I also think the referee and Khibani were the joke of the game. Khiabani who is a government hardliner reporter, most clearly was advancing IRIB3’s agenda in CQ bashing while making many mistakes. And the ref and his stupid VAR calls and penalty calls. First penalty wasn’t a penalty and should have not been called a penalty in the first place. But I think they did it purposely to test and show off their VAR. However he didn’t call a clear second penalty (the hand in the box) even though he used virtual assistance.
The just shoreline should have been a 2-1 for Iran, an usual score line that Iran achieved against lower rated South American teams. However we missed an opp to beat Venezuela and still their 29th position I’m FIFA ranking thanks to our forwards’ last shots and Mr. VARed referee!

My opinion is that TM is not ready to switch tactics yet and even with 2 more friendly games scheduled

i muted the sound after 20 mins of listening to the so called commentory, i just couldnt take the rubbish anymore. Commentators are suppose to add to the game and make it more exciting, informative & interesting, but when they take away from the game and cause distraction, make it personal, and blatantly try to put their ignorant slant on the proceedings should never be allowed behind the mike. Frankly he needs to go. Ruined the joy of watching the game for me for sure, and i had to get up at 4am for it.
