Take it to PMs. 100 bucks max. 3 to 1 odds. We can start once he's officially signed.

That's the horseshit he fed us to make his defensive approach more paletable. Otherwise defensive approach based on our attacking talent is asinine. The only post that we've somewhat struggled with over the years to produce consistent talent is CAM. But even there we had Karimi, Jabari, and Shojaie when he first started. And now we have Ashkan and Shojaie, and a bunch of untested talent from IPL.

You think that coward is gonna setup an offensive lineup against the likes of Brazil, Argentina and Chile with Colombia?

You really can't look at the majority of the anti-CQ faction and say that they don't have an agenda against CQ. All the way until the moment he left Iran, they kept saying that his talks with Colombia were fabricated and that he was just using it to mark-up his value within the IFF. Even now that he's gone, and on the verge of signing with a much better national team in Colombia, they are still downplaying his credentials by saying that he will be swiftly sacked.

Akhe chera? What's in it for you to hope that the ex-manager of your national team is sacked? If anything, it's a further validation that we were lucky to have someone of such a calibre for 8 years, regardless of whether you agreed with his footballing philosophy or not.

Per Qatar FA Sanchez will be relieved of his duty! Time of IFF to sign him and give him a plan to do what he did for Qatar...

"Sanchez is not worried about the prospect of losing his job in spite of the fact that the Qataris are going to sign a new head coach for the 2022 World Cup."

                Exactly.

We have around 5 very vocal members who are very prominent about their dislike of Queiroz, some call him "Gohroosh", others insult him in more subtle ways. I guess, for them, the rest of the forum is engaged in some kind of personality cult obsessed with this "defensively-minded" guy who was paid "so much money" for "eight years of failure".

Regardless about all my points regarding how important his building of our infrastructure has been, I defer to a member on another site about just being realistic, even if you don't appreciate him as a person.

"The country that is hosting the next World Cup, which has spent money and has devoted resources to its soccer has won. The country with below average league and a corrupt system, which cannot even plan meaningful friendly matches has been ousted in the semifinals. What is the big surprise? Why was otherwise expected? Why would we think our players and CQ have failed?

CQ had pluses and minuses. Overall he left a positive mark. The man fell in love with Iran and showed more love and care for its people than those who govern it. Many thanks to him for tolerating the government for eight years. Let’s see which first class coach is willing to go to Iran and deal with the crap. I am not holding my hopes high."

I wonder how rooted in reality these members are, who think that anything better than Queiroz is ever possible?

Carlos Quriouz worked great with Iran.. but there was no attantion or money for Team Melli if Qatar not was there to help...

The best every coach in HISTORY of Iranian football there must be a status of him in front of Azadi. Sttadion!

Sanchez would be an absolute disaster.

Since 1996, he has been working with two of the finest and wealthiest academies in the world - Barcelona and Qatar.

Going into the politically diseased cesspool which is Iranian football, only a special personality can survive that for more than a few months, let alone 8 years...

Where there's passion, mismanagement and scarcity of resources, scapegoating becomes rampant. If you look at the history of soccer in Iran, you'd realize that, other than Heshmat Mohajerani, no other Iranian coach has had any tangible success. Interestingly, it is partly the same figures, or those associated with them, who are (or have been) unsuccessful in advancing Iranian soccer at the international level that have been the biggest antagonists and the most vocal critics. And, incidentally, scapegoating has not been limited to Queiroz; Branko, Ghalenoie, Daie, Ghotbi and Blazevic have had their share-though no one has been crucified as much as Queiroz.

The bottom line is that people who are negatively fixated on Queiroz have to come to terms with that fact that even the greatest coach on earth will not be able to bring about the kind of success they're envisioning. Those who have supported him, on the other hand, realize that our national team's recurring failures in winning the Asian Cup and advancing to the knockout stage in the World Cup is rooted in endogenous problems that many people here have repeatedly touched on. In Iran, as we all know, there's an abundance of talent and passion for the game, along with foundational issues related to inadequate infrastructure and resources as well as poor management. But the overarching issue that has deprived us of continuity has been cultural, the sort of negativity that emerges soon after the creation of the smallest adversity, though I realize that some of the stone throwing is a part of politics associated with any major bureaucracy, something essentially related to money, power, and prestige. So, instead of looking at Queiroz' tenure as an incremental phase in the development of our soccer to ultimately dominate Asia and compete honorably on the world stage, some of us look at the scoreboard, the coach's decision making in a particular game, or even his salary to assess his overall performance. The truth is, if you establish a rational criteria, as opposed to relying on subjective and arbitrary analysis, and evaluate every single manager who's ever coached Iran based on that clear standard, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who has been superior to Carlos Queiroz.

The anti-CQ crowd are basically three separate factions, only two of which are regular fans.

The first of the three are the coaches, players, officials and agents who saw CQ as a threat to their interests and sought to destroy him as a survival mechanism.

Th second are a faction of Perspolis fanatics who see team melli as just another team that's not their club. As you would expect from the kind of geniuses who would prefer some club to their country, they're also some of the dumbest and therefore most easily manipulated simpletons among Iranian football fans. This intellectual handicap was painfully evident every time they tried to formulate a "concern" to hide behind in order to avoid admitting their real motives. They bash CQ not because they give a damn if team melli wins or loses, but because they think by bashing him they're taking revenge for some foreign guy who happens to coach their club right now.

The third are the ones who had been against CQ from the very beginning regardless of results. These brain surgeons are what you get when low IQ people decide to act "patriotic". They reduce love of country to hating foreigners and opposing any outsider who steps foot in Iran regardless of his motives and services. These are the types of scholars who prefer Mayeli Kohan to European coaches.

The first group's motives are at least understandable from a standpoint of self-interest, even if they're despicable. The second and third types are just plain stupid. And they're a dime a dozen in that country.

I also had the same flaw years ago when I would insult players and coaches like "ghalegohi", Khar-reedi, sattare zayeh and similar names. I am ashamed that I insulted those mentioned. I have matured a bit and hope that I refrain myself from these insults. I also hope that other members will do the same in the future.
what's worse is Carlos did a lot for our team and our football yet they insult him in this way. such namaknashnas. Ghalenoei and ghotbi were both terrible coaches with tm. I especially hope I never insult a tm player again. These guys work hard and try to get the result. If they fail it's not due to lack of effort.

you think he should ? There are many ways to win a game and it's not always stacking up 3 forwards up front and attacking non relentlessly. For decades, Italy dominated world football through tough and fierce defending. That "horseshit" strategy you talk about, brought us 2 back-to-back WCs, and a very respectable result in the 2nd WC. We were one missed goal away from topping the group.

If they fire Sanchez, now we got van Marweijk as head coach, we should install Sanchez as our U-23 coach and also for our U-Teams which play in asian or world cups...he is a talent builder. Sign him, even sign Mislintat as a scout, and you will earn big guns in the future..
