Would it not have made more sense to put Gholizadeh on the list and replace him if he's not ready by Jan. 4th?
It’s quite Clear he ain’t gonna be ready for action anytime soon enough to matter as far AC is concerned..! That whole “secondary Invite to Injured list” is just a “Feel Good” jesture from Carlos to Gholizadeh & nothing will come from it...!
Kid must be used to it by now...!
Dude was pictured even walking around the camp with a big ass cast on his ankle ..! No way he was gonna be getting healthy enough to participate in such a high level competition days away.
Ankles problems take a long time to recover from & most often even become a reoccurring & nagging problems for years to come especially so if adequate recovery time isn’t afforded the player ..!& let’s face it considering his style of play & his strengths as a player that’s just about the most damaging & career threatening injury he coulda come down with.

I would liked to see Morteza Akhbari in the team. I think he could offered a different option up front.
He impressed me the most during ACL final games. He played smart and as mentioned he added to defense and offense. Hope he can cope with a higher pace with TM.
Good Luck ! I got into an argument that if we go by natural talent and passion and achievements than Iran is ahead of Japan + Korea in Asia. Though Iran hasn't won anything for a while now neither they have appeared on the World stage as consistently as those two didn't help my case.
Mazaheri is very talented yet he is going through ups and downs with Zob-eh Ahan that is currently sitting one place above the relegation zone in IPL. With likes of Niazmand, Abedzadeh and H. Hosseini (in addition to Beiranvand of course) he has a lot of competition for the second and third keeper spots in TM yet many are confident that he will get his mojo back in the future and will be called again. He was not called to the initial list of 21 a couple of weeks ago either.
I really don't get the inclusion of Shojaei and Dejagah! and then people say Branko had favorites when he was at the helm of TM!
It is also a mystery there is only 1 player from the top team in the IPL table!
Other than that, a good list!
Taremi gets too much playing time considering he plays in Qatar and we have 3 FWs playing in Europe. That shows CQ's love for him. I'm not complaining though. I like him despite the fact that he misses the target too many times. He's powerful and strong and can be quite smart at times.

there are no mysteries. the list is fine. imo, Ashkan and Shojaie are # 22 and 23 on the list (figuratively speaking). barring some weird circumstances, they will not be playing much and definitely not in the knock out stage. but they are the type of players that given their familiarity with the team and their experience they can be very useful in a rainy day. Also, they are the leaders of the bunch and the younger guys look up to them. they have been together for a long time. taking out top two captains of the team heading into a tournament is not a good time to do this. if he was going to drop these two he should have done it right after the WC.
If Ashkan and Masoud have to get shit done for us on the field, then it only means that our plans haven't gone well. that's why I don't expect to see much from these two, specially as we go deeper into the tourney.

agreed, people like to give branko shit for brining daei to germany in 06, but don't say nothing about CQ brining shojaei and dejagah in 18/19 smh. and enough of this 'leadership' crap, if thats the reason then they should be coaching instead wasting 2 spots. and daei was a general on the pitch, fcuk ali karimi
moreover, as useless as ali daei was from 02-06 at least he was burying goals left and right
the same can't be said for masoud who has been terrible for the past 6 or so years
dejagah is very injury prone, but at least he can control the ball and distribute a few passes, he looked very good in the turkey friendly, like really good lol
not sure about taremi tho, i feel that ghoddos can do the same running and defending as well as taremi, karim, and amiri, while not being a total spaz on offense. i feel that ghoddos deservse a chance to play a total 90. i also feel that given an opportunity that torabi can be a dark horse for us
