Constantine would never risk expose his team so close to the cup, just as CQ would not play any big name team right before a tournament. You could call it cowardice but there is no point in risking the morale of your team at this point. Just enter the tournament as a dark horse and hope you do well on the day.



P.S it was not the incompetence of IFF this time (as some members would always suggest ) but rather a tactical decision by Indian coach being the reason for this friendly to not take place.

That's one interpretation. However, look at the minnows Palestine and their morale boost of tying Iran 1-1. India could have also benefited from such a possibility. Now, they only have 1 friendly under their belt before the tournament.
