The last time that India scored the first goal in an Asian Cup match was on 27 May 1964 against South Korea, which they eventually won 2 - 0.

That was also the only time India ever scored the opening goal in an Asian Cup match.

Too early to count Aussies as the third team in the group but as someone else said here, if that happens then it gets complicated for us as there is a chance iran meet Aussies in round of 16. But again ..too early to say.

I checked this up and there is a very small chance that we will meet Australia in the r16 if we finish first in our group. Out of 15 possibilities only 1 puts us against the third team from group B. That is if no third team from group E or F qualifies.
