Taremi was MOM and is up there with the Chetri as the best scorer.

The man was so over the top, it made me watch half of the highlights on mute. I rather listen to khiabani commentate in English than ever listen to whoever the hell that dude was.

Reminds me of that Mexican guy that fox sports brought on that would yell “IIITS SOCCER TIME” and “FIIIIIRREEEE” way too cheesy

The Iranian announcer was the worst, he wasn't paying attention then start yelling wildly, trash talking Iran's team right before they scored, then trash talking Dejagah right before he scored and shut them up.

for me, the best thing that came out of this game , aside from the W, is Taremi scoring a couple of goals. I seriously believe that Taremi has to be a big part of it if we are going to win the cup. scoring a couple of goals in the first game of the tournament , albeit against a much weaker side, is a pretty good start. I am not counting just on his scoring. I think he is simply the most dangerous player we have. and it's important that he gets into a good rhythm. He is the man!

looks like Taremi has been working on his finishing. doesn't need 20 chances until he scores one. hopefully he will be consistent during the tournament as we don't know how many opportunities we'll get against stronger teams/grassrollers.

azmoun did well, but he still isn't good enough to make up for his immature behavior. i still refuse to get behind this guy until he starts finding the back of the net more often

hajsafi is a liability at LB i really don't know why CQ keeps putting him there. we finally have a natural LB in MiMo who can actually play. the world cup was a perfect example of hajsafi getting schooled, while MiMo was able to hold his own against some of the worlds best. id rather hajsafi play along side ebrahimi in the midfield.

dejagah has still got it. we will see how his body will react to this tournament, hopefully he can stay fit throughout its course

torabi- i said before this tournament that he will be a dark horse for us if he was given the opportunity and wow was he amazing today

ghoddos- he is our key to a championship, just head and shoulders above everyone. hopefully CQ will use him for more than 5 minutes during the elimination round

i have a good feeling about our chances this year. we keep playing like this, not even a saudied ref can stop us.

I don't know about you guys but my biggest disappointment in the world cup was CQ picking Hajsafi over Milad. I find Milad's defensive game (especially his aerial dominance) very impressive, let alone his pace in counter-attacks.

Hajsafi is a useful squad player because he is a utility man who can play in a number of positions (and of course can take set pieces) reasonably well and is our most experienced player at only 28 years old.

I guess CQ has his cultured "lieutenants" of Shojaei, Hajsafi, Ansarifard, the players that he likes to have around for various other reasons and its useful to have as many on the pitch but in the case of Hajsafi I'm really hoping that later on in the tournament Milad takes his place to cement that left side.

for me it was playing hajsafi over milad, giving ghoddos a total of 30 minutes in the whole tournament, and not playing gucci at the end vs portugal. coulda shoulda woulda

Let's not forget to rate our coaching staff.

I would give them 10 out of 10.

Carlos is a master. No doubt! He does it like he is playing chess.

Bravo Carlos. Iran is lucky to have you.

Gucci shouldn't even have been in the list for the world cup, whatcha talkin bout willis?

Queiroz only brought him out of courtesy, i reckon.

Completely agree with you, imagine if Gucci was behind the ball that Taremi missed in the end of the Portugal game, it would've been a goal and we would've eliminated Portugal. I don't understand how easy we forgot about Gucci who was instrumental for us for so long.

if gucci shouldn't have been on the list, then why was Gholi our 24th man. you got it mixed up. gucci was ready to play and gholi was fit. masoud and dejagah were brought out of courtesy as one was injured and the other plays like he's inured

we should get rid of Hosseini, and Rezayian in our starting 11 if we wanna win the cup.

and I admit that I was wrong because i think we will miss Ezatolahi badly in the later stages of the tournament.

We are lacking a midfield anchor who has a good passing range.
