      Beiranvand- 7 (Not tested)

Ehsan Hajsafi- 5.5 (Quite invisible. didn't see him much)

Majid Hosseini- 4.5 (And there was me thinking he was our best defender. Very bad game for him and should have been sent off. We were lucky)

      Pouraliganji- 7.5 (Mr. Solid)

Rezaeian- 8 (Good game and world class cross on the goal)

Omid Ebrahimi- 7.5 (Did his job well)

Dejagah- 9 (MOTM. I was nagging when I saw him in the starting line up. But he was amazing)

Vahid Amiri- 6 (Didn't see him much)

Taremi- 9 (Currently our best striker)

Torabi- 8.5 (He should always start)

Azmoun- 7.5 (Can't have him miss so many chances in the next rounds)

      Substitutes

      Montazari- 7 (Solid)

      Ansarifard- 6

      Ghoddos- 8.5 (Must start)

Carlos is a master. No doubt! He does it like he is playing chess.

Bravo Carlos. Iran is lucky to have you.
I agree. By the way, Azmoun is a bit over-rated from what I can see.

In my opinion Azmoun did great yesterday, he played very fast and had a good eye especially for taremi. He hustled a lot and won some nice headers. Also his stamina increased a lot. If he works on his finishing skills we will be a hell of a striker.

Lol at all the members saying Majid Hosseini is bad.

Despite the fact that he got excited and made an unnecessary foul, he’s typically the most cold blooded and chill defender we have.

You’ll see how amazing he is.

Anyone know why hosseini was taken off at half time? It’s a strange thing to do if he isn’t injured and we hadn’t conceded.? Yes he did make a bad challenge but other than that we were ok (apart from opening 10mins)

He was actually removed because he had a random doping test at HT.

Ya ? How do you know that? Im not a fan of taremi at all but the guy is in amazing shape and puts gimself in good position to get these chances
Watch the replay. Gucci wouldnt have been able to get to that ball. Maybe gucci cudda been used ahainst portugal in the last mins but cq brought on ghoddos which was a better sub and he wanted a tall strong karim. Dejagah didnt play in wc and he is going to be important for us now. Gucci never shudda retired but i think his best is behind him and inthank him for everything he did for us

and I admit that I was wrong because i think we will miss Ezatolahi badly in the later stages of the tournament.

We are lacking a midfield anchor who has a good passing range.
We need to get rid of a guy who gave an assist like that? OK [emoji106]

Great first game overall. We had a good draw to start against Yemen; a war-torn country. Even some of their players were visibly malnourished. Shout out to them for participating.
I'm most glad that we don't have any injured players from that physical game.
The group stage should be a walk in the park for us. It's a perfect round of warm-ups for the later stages. It's great to see the mistakes that we made yesterday were committed against a weak Yemen, as opposed to higher caliber teams.
Hopefully, the coaching staff will improve this aspect. There's simply zero excuses for Hosseini and Ramin's reckless tackles. We haven't forgotten about Pooladi from the last campaign.
We have such a strong squad, that even our b team will dominate the group stage. It's just a question of managing the team efficiently until the final. I'm not worried about the staff. But the players... WHY TACKLE LIKE THAT when you're up 3-0 so early in the game in a clash of David vs Goliath??!? We are literally asking for the refs to card us!
Anyway, I'm not too worried about the coach's picks. I personally prefer to see Saman start, but CQ knows the team and the game better than anyone.
I also don't see why everyone is so worried about Ehsan? We were playing a very high line yesterday. It's only normal to get caught on counters. This weakness was only exposed yesterday because Ezzatollahi wasn't playing. We're so used to watching magnificent defensive displays, now that we're playing (or trying to play) possesion football, the gaps are now exposed. It's a very different story when you play with one DM instead of two. Amiri should have provided better cover as a CM, but does he have the same aggression and drive as Ashkan despite being younger and more fit? Nope.
Torabi, Ashkan, Taremi, Ebrahmi and Sardar were amazing yesterday. Ghodoos scored a goal that no Iranian player can. I can't wait to see more of him in the upcoming games!

After the fifth goal and their benched player crying, for the first time I wanted us to stop scoring goals. They were finished after Ashkan's free kick. 😐😕
