Great result by the boys, but am I the only one who expected more individually? The start of the game wasnt good and our defense looked shaky. But it was great to score more than 1 goal and the desire to keep on fighting was amazing. Im a little nervous about the reckless challenges though, especially from Hosseini and Dejagah.

Beiranvand- Wasnt anything to rate.
Ehsan Hajsafi- 5, one of his worst games, really disappointed.
Majid Hosseini- 5 same as hajsafi.
Pouraliganji- 6,5 did the job when the others couldnt, but even he can do better.
Rezaeian- 7 great game by rezaeian, amazing attacking endurance.
Omid Ebrahimi- 6 OK
Dejagah- 7,5 good game
Vahid Amiri- 6 not his best game but he fights.
Taremi- 8 great game by taremi, I guess he is great against asian opposition.
Torabi- 8 really good game, one of my favourites right now
Azmoun- 7 Ok game, why is it so hard for him to keep his balance? He tried hard but he isnt the nr 1 striker atm.

Substitutes

Montazari- 7 solid
Ansarifard- I didnt notice him
Ghoddos- 7 as my favourite player, i expect more from him. He made a few bad passes which he usually never does. Im happy that he scored though, he needs it.

All in all a great team performance and thats mainly because of the psychological strength that the team has got. I really liked the passing game and the way we controlled the match, I havent seen that from TM earlier. I do think that we should chill a bit though, because if we play like we did in the first 10 minutes, we are going to be punished by better teams. As the australian post-game show discussed, this was probably the strongest team in the tournament vs the weakest.

It was our first 10 tournament minutes. We always start slow. Remember the first 10 minutes against Morocco? Almost gave me a stroke. We will be better against Vietnam.

Great performance by Tm. One of the best passing performances I remember. Great hustle and conditioning. If our team can play like this for 90 minutes we are going to be hard to stop. Great subs by CQ You can see he has plans for going far in this tournament. Nice crosses on 3 of the goals and a couple other chances that the Yemeni goalie saved. Well done!

Beiranvand- 7 - he was untested

Ehsan Hajsafi- 5.5 - he's overrated and mistake prone. Yes, he has some offensive capability but he doesn't defend.

Majid Hosseini- 6 - aggression is good, but he's far too reckless.

Pouraliganji- 7 - did all that was expected.

Rezaeian- 7 - did all that was expected. Could be quicker.

Omid Ebrahimi- 7 - did all that was expected.

Dejagah- 9 - nice work to control the pace of play and midfield. His skill level is highest on TM when he's injury free

Vahid Amiri- 6.5 - too many mistakes.

Taremi- 9 - Gets in position and creates many chances. His physical play is the best in TM. Valuable to any team and CQ loves him understandably.

Torabi- 7.5 - his touch is too heavy, yeah he had some nice shots, but its not enough considering the opponent.

Azmoun- 8 - hustled and got many opportunities. Unlucky to not score more.

Substitutes

Montazeri- 7 - good replacement for Majid. Calmed everything down.

Ansarifard- N/A

Ghoddos- 7.5 - great goal but slow and mistake prone. He'll get better but he's not 100%


Overall it was a good game, but our opponent made us look much better.
Still too many mistakes.
Don't expect us to play this open anymore in the tournament. Each game will get progressively harder.

Also I genuinely felt bad for the Yemeni player on the bench who was crying.

Ashkan, Sardar, Taremi, Rezaeian and later on Ghoddos had all solid game. I liked what Queiroz did with Majid Hosseini, he knew he deserved a red and got lucky with it, he took him right away off the field to teach the young a lesson. He also had a quite shaky first half.
