Interesting fact re: team rotation. In 2 games, already 17 players have featured. The only exceptions are: Niazmand, Abedzadeh, Cheshmi, Jahanbakhsh, Mohammadi, and Shojaei. Aside from the back-up keepers, I am certain that the other 4 players will all feature at some point in the near future (most likely in the Iraq match).
Whether this all pays off in the end remains to be seen but I think it's incredibly rare and telling of the squad (and CQ's tactics) that we are able to utilize EVERY player.

That what i love about CQ . You'll never know who is gonna play the next game. I remember back in 2006 we all knew our formation for ever match, because we weren't a team , it was based on the best individuals we had, but right now we play as team.
You'll never know if haj safi or voria or ramin rezaeian , torabi , ghoddos dejagah etcc.... is gonna play in next match or no.

Ali Gholi, Ezzatollahi, Ali Karimi, Kaveh, Sadegh Moharrami.
These 5 players could have given the coache lots of more options to rotate the squad.

I am not sure what is going on with Haj safi, He has been very weak at his position lately, both yemeni & vietnamese players kept passing right by him easily except for a few plays. I am definitely worried about that side. I'll bet Queiroz will either put Mohammadi or someone else in that position in the next games.

We demonstrated an iranian style "tiki taka" today with lots of posession, ground passing, quick touches, and patience on the ball. This should be the foundation of our offense moving forward. However, this needs to be honed as there were many instances where a poor final pass prevented a goal scoring opportunity. Also, it can be a fragile system where just one bad touch or pass can ruin the play. Until then, we need to be able to take defenders on to open up space (like ghafouri did to set up the goal).
If we improve this style, we will definitely make the 2nd round in Qatar 2022.

what you saw 1st half vs Vietnam is about as good as it could probably be implemented internationally for TM..!! Simply because CQ hasnt been afforded the necessary time to polish it and doubtful he will going forward based on histric abilities of IFF..!!
Besides the few TM players who have some EU club playing experience under their belts, Omid Ebrahimi is about the most proficient primarily domestic TM participant in this style of play..!
quietly he has been doing a marvelous job connecting our D to Midfield and beyond and primarily by his Clever Movement w/o the ball and astute positioning on the pitch, making himself available as a simple passing outlet all over the pitch and forcing the opposition to open up gaps chasing his threat defensively..!! most of it going unnoticed by your avg. fan..!! Ezzai was great at that too and had the immense physical presence to seem more formidable and imposing, hence more noticeable..!
ftb, continentally Japan and SK are far ahead of us on those fronts and i doubt we can catch up with them anytime too soon..!! ? perhaps like you said by 22 if cq kept in charge and more of our promising footballers move to EU leagues..!

I love Jahanbakhsh but I hope he doesn't get ready to play for a good while so that Torabi and Ghoddos can play a bit more. What a fantastic duo we have in them.
Dejagah has proved me wrong in this tournament so far. He looks like his old self when he had just come from Bundesliga. I hope he keeps it up like that until the end of the tournament.
Azmoun and Taremi can become the golden striker pair in this tournament.
All in all, TM played better than against Yemen despite fewer goals but I think none of these games really prove how good or bad we are.
The next game will be a better game to judge what the boys can do.

Biggest surprise of the tournament is dejagah for me he’s been a key player both games, carries the team with his effective passing, and although he isn’t as technical of a dribbler he does hold the ball well. Defiantly no longer a winger but he’s solid as a CAM. Great to see Ghoddos finally start too, him and Dejagah are head and shoulders above everyone player on the pitch and their European upbringing really shows on the pitch. Things are looking great.--------------------------Beiranvand-------------------
--Moharrami----Hosseini--Kanaani----Amiri--
------------------Ezatolahi-----Ebrahimi--------------
--Jahanbaksh---------Ghoddos------------Taremi--
---------------------------Azmoun----------------------

You can tell Queiroz is working on our offensive game, and it's exciting to watch it develop.
