Why do Iranians have so much problem with accepting the idea of "freedom of expression"?

CQ made some remarks in a public interview.

He got reactions to his remarks from some Iranians.

Why do some people want to suppress the free flow of expression?

This is the way it is supposed to be folks.

If CQ and his supporters can't take the heat they should get out of the kitchen.

They surely can not expect Iranians to shut up and say nothing.

Well if these bisavad morons weren't twisting and misrepresenting what CQ has said, no one here would have a problem with "freedom of expression" (aka fosheh namoosi).

Not everyone is basavad and a genius.

So you can respond to them but don't try to shut them up.

It's commonly said that a nation's football tends to be a reflection of the people's culture and overall mentality.

The synopsis of a great book about Shah's prime minister Abbas Hoveyda, titled The Persian Sphinx, starts with this question:

"How and why did a country, never richer, never more educated, its women never more liberated, erupt in a fundamentalist revolution? the answer can be found in the enthralling life and tragic death of one man."

But you don't have to read about that man or even follow Iranian politics to arrive at the answer. If you've been following Iranian football for the past 8 years, especially the last 2, you're painfully familiar with the shortsighted, petty, opportunistic and downright stupid mentality among too many of our people that sabotages and eventually destroys anyone who tries to do something positive for that country.

Weren't you the same one talking about the supreme leader-e-pofouz or something? Now it's freedom of expression.

Difference between freedom of expression and slander.

The last thing the Brankollahi crowd care about or even understand is "freedom of expression". They just play that card so they can curse at CQ and his family like the illiterate goons that they are, without being called out for being the illiterate goons that they are.

Actually it was CQ who said "rahbar" supported him but Sports Minister did not LOL

I just quoted him since it was pretty sneaky of him to hide behind "rahbar"'s aba.

Here we go name calling galore.

So some "bisavad morons" want to express themselves. Should we not allow them?

I think the timing of all of this is very poor and the media personnel are sewing divisions. More confusing is how all these miscommunications have escalated. Personal vandettas are going g wild.

However I am left wondering...if CQ has so many hungry staff members why is he adding more? What is Tony Oliviera adding to TM at present? To me something just doesn't add up.

The bisavad morons are allowed to "express" themselves, and the rest of us are allowed to "express" that they're a bunch of bisavad morons whose only contribution is cursing at the one man doing something meaningful in our football. Freedom of speech works both ways.

No!!! Because what they are doing is slander, libel, and defamation!!!

And in a non 3rd world country those are all punishable offenses by LAW!!!

Khiabani vs. Querioz on Varzesh TV

Whoever has audacity to talk shit against Agha Quieroz and everything he has done for us to bring the name of the almighty team Melli back to glory doesn't give a shit about Iran or its people, who crowded in the millions when we qualified or when we came back from almost qualifying to the knockout stages in a group that contained Spain and Portugal. With all due respect l see some self-hating Iranians here who would rather see their country fail than admit something good has come about. And for some people who say that this and every single problem arising from Iran stems from 40 years ago, can we stop looking to the dark past and stop making this political, everything with you people has to do with 40 years ago. The important thing here is focus on this Asia cup and try to win it, when a national team plays there is no clubs, there is no rivalry there is only Iran and its great people supporting the team AND its coach to glory. In the words of Napoleon, "to conquer the world, first we must conquer Asia" and that we will. [emoji1431]

You don't need to have a "butthurt shahi grandpa ass" to understand that the 1979 revolution was a disaster. But you do need to be a clueless adolescent (with the vocabulary of a 14 year old) to think that such an observation could only be made by a monarchist. [/end threadjack]
