Fantastic first half by Iran. Completely in control. Defence at times a little shaken (understandable with those retarded megaphones in the stadium). Crosses could be a little more accurate but overall, we are playing free flowing football. They seem to have ironed out some of the creases from the Iraq game. It’s important to see how they come out of the dressing rooms. Iran can be a completely different team in the second half at times, hopefully they continue this.

I don't know what the Fox commentators are crying about. That was a clear penalty; Taremi redirected the ball with his toes and the Omani defender got half his body in front of Taremi. That's a clear block and a penalty. Sure you can argue it was a bit soft but still a penalty.

& ARJ probably woulda been better off coming off the bench as he struggled to get going but was finally coming alive towards the end of first half
His vital goal was exactly what the doctor ordered for us in this game..! A moment of individual brilliance and hustle to beat the defender & slotting it in wonderfully

Half time and 2-0 is perfect but we should not feel complacent. Hosseini looked very very shaky defensively.
Beiranvand is a gem, my god that was such a filthy save on the penalty and even the shot. Feel so confident with him between the posts.
Jahanbakhsh started out nervous but he’s been the MOM so far, really active and strong going forward. Azmoun has looked sharp too; just wish he controlled that pass from AJ, he would’ve buried it.

Rezaeian needs to improve on his delivery, he’s being put into so many good positions to send nice crosses.
