Beiro is quickly gaining legend status. His great story, his jaw dropping throws, his PK saves vs CR and now vs Oman, his great save vs. Xavi. I am really proud of him. He is an inspiration to everyone...
I don't understand the hate on Amiri. He plays a very underrated and pivotal role for our team but his role is often unnoticed and unappreciated because he doesn't score or flick the ball like Jogo Bonito. He's a perfect CQ player. He runs like a horse and does more defensively than anybody else. He was also pretty good distributing the ball today and started some quick counters with his clean touches. He will be missed in the QF.
As for Majid, it seems like he's lost his confidence, which is surprising to me. Majid was thrown into a very tough match vs Spain and played fantastic in his first TM start on his 22nd birthday. At that point, I considered him to be mentally strong and thought if he could do that vs Spain, he will be fine vs any other country (especially Asian opposition). But he seems off, both in his positioning and touches. I wonder if this started at Trabzon since he somewhat lost his starting spot, maybe it messed with his head. I wonder if CQ will stick with him or go with Kanani for the QF. Perhaps CQ wants to keep consistency in the back line, but no question Kanani has been better than Majid this tournament.
As for Taremi and Sardar, sure, they should've bagged a few goals, but make no mistake about it, their connection and chemistry is a beauty to watch. Reminds me of the Azizi-Daei connection (although they're very different type of players). Taremi and Sardar have such great cohesion that they know where the other is, or what they will do, without even looking. It's a beautiful thing, really.
