this China team has no teeth. If the boys up front are on their game, 3-0. If not, 1-0.

Look, our team looks really, really scary compared to the Chinese one. So long as we stay focused from minute 1 and keep up the pressure, things should be smooth sailing. We absolutely have to be clinical; if not, the game may drag on longer than is necessary.

I hope that Ebrahimi isn't too fatigued, he's been getting the most play time so far compared to the rest of the team.

I think Hajsafi will fill in for Amiri in the middle. Only area where we'll likely see a change is in RB (probably Ramin will start, he had a great second half against Oman) and in CAM (where it will be either Ghoddos or Shojaei)

CQ. Obviously needs his fastest players to play against very quick and very fast Chinese. So he may start Torabi instead of Hajsafi and bring in Hajsafi later in the second half. CQ has several options and I am not worried about Amiri not playing tomorrow. I predict 1-0 win for TM, while we will miss several chance like the Oman game. If our players hit the ball on target then we may win 2-0.

I saw the China and Thailand game and China TRULY struggled to Equalize and it was ONLY due to Thailand's inexperience and their inability to control the ball. This is the only reason! Against an Iran with a WC tested defense, China will really struggle and if we score early, we can double that as in this game a winner needs to be produced and China will only dig their graves if they come at us and open up with their ageing players! they will lose steam come min 65! !!

interesting take agha siavash....I can see this playing out but I personally feel that CQ will start hajsafi in midfield this match to replace amiri due to their similarities. the beauty is that if torabi starts we're in for a treat too bc he brings that exciting flair to the game we all love. lets see what happens fingers crossed for a comfortable win!

                      this
only saw them vs the thais, & i just cant see them scoring on us..! and its highly doubtful they can hold us back from scoring at least one goal to see them off during regulation..! some bizarre shittt must go down for us to loose this game....!!

                      ps
like i said before considering this is the vital 1/4 stage, i highly doubt CQ would risk experimenting with our Starting line-up nearly as much as iraq game..!! but by the same token he can confidently slot in few of the 2nd stringers, to ensure some already cautioned players get rested dont miss out next game due to accumulation of yellow cards..!

the big question marks will be surrounding whether he would risk Starting the already cautioned Taremi or Ghodoos and to a lesser extent Haj Safi..!? or if he would dare giving a much needed rest to Sardar by promoting Karim to lead the line..?? highy doubtful that ..!!

personally think of the key players only Ghodoos will be saved on the bench ..!

kanani will most probably replace the already cautioned and somewhat struggling Hossaini and its 50/50 whether Ramin or Vouria get the starting nod..!(Ramin woulda been the favored but he is sitting on a yellow which will give the edge back to vouria on that front)

i also think this is one opponent that the aging and somewhat played-out Shojee could fair well against...! especially if as expected China park the bus tomorrow and we would need a savvy dribbler like him or torabi to break the first defensive barrier and send the rest of their pack scrambling to cover spaces..!!

I dont think we struggled against Iraq.
We just never shifted to higher gears at all, as we really didnt need to

I watched china against krygs , south korea and thailand. They are very good in counter attacks and deffending. Thailand is not an easy task to win. After they fired their coach , their team play totally changed. They won against bahrain (that nearly kicked out australia) and they did pretty well against china. This shows that china is not an easy task . I think we will have a hard game tommo. I just hope that we don't get 2nd yellow cards in this match.

Interestingly a lot of Iranians I have met believe this is going to be our toughest game yet. Everyone I speak with says they’re very worried and some go on to say we will lose [emoji57][emoji1750]*[emoji3603]

Who remembers Arash Borhani’s 2006 Asian games clash with China where he taunted the Chinese in front of the goal? Quite an awkward gesture by him. Below is the video, you may skip to 6:00 mark:

                              ^^^^ who can forget that

what made me laugh more was during PKs their goalie thought a shot of the post didn't go in... but it did after it hit him. he was celebrating too

Shojai and Cheshmi in the line up at the same time means giving the midfield to Chinese. It results in more pressure on our CBs. Hajisafi in midfield beside Omid is a safe bet. Shojai can not hold the ball and gives it away. He should say good bye after Asian Cup.
