Lippi was anything but Lippy!
Sitting quietly throughout the match, he seemed to have already booked his Abu Dhabi - Roma flight leaving just after Iran's game. That probably explains his disappearance!
Good thing he is not paid in Lira, he would have needed an extra Luggage!sigpic
Long Live 3 Rang'e Iran

Team Melli has momentum and a lot of confidence at the moment. We are playing very well. We are dominating, we are dictating the speed of the match due to our comfort holding the ball.
There could not be a better opponent to face Japan than Iran. The semifinals are truly the Top 4 national teams in Asia.
This match will test our national team to see how far we can go, how far we can climb without quitting due to fatigue. Mental toughness will be measured and tested against a speedy and technical Japan.
Japan may not have scored more than 1 goal against Vietnam but they are aore technically gifted and aware opponent who can defeat us. We need to focus on this match as it is our final and NOT take the 2-0 vs Vietnam mentality into the match vs Japan.
I repeat, as fans, let’s not take the 2-0 victory over Vietnam mentality into the semifinals vs Japan. This will be a completely different match and a completely different scenario with tired legs from both teams.
Everyone will be tested in Iran vs Japan!

If we dont over estimate Japan, play aggressive, attacking football like we have been and continue trying to dominate possession, we will knock them out easily. I think, getting nervous, relying too much on counter attacking football, over estimating our opponents while under estimating ourself is our weakness.

This Chinese team was simply toothless and by enlarge finished-off at the end of their last game vs thailand .... !!
its gonna be a major Dogfight vs Japan coming up and we must be firing on all cylinders to get past them into the Final..!! we can ill afford to be nearly as wasteful with our golden chances in that match ..!!
however Bey and our solid defensive form gives me much hope that we will prevail vs japan too, however narrowly..!!

If we look at the performance at the AC so far we had the better performance.
But given the fact that Japan is very experienced in knockout-stages ( since they have been in many more do-or-die games than TM in oast 15 years)
they have the edge here. I expect Japan to raise their Level just like their raise their level in knockout game against Belgium.
Will be interesting match !
Japan sorted out 12 Players from the wc2018 Team and brought 12 new!
They Are Building for 2022 wc

Why beat up on CQ for a mistake by Taremi or the Ref.? Why say Chinese were not good thus Iran won? Is it because you want Brangoh to take over the job? Whether CQ stays or leaves I promise you someone else will be the head coach. With Brongoh we've been there and done that, no more.
