Well he is kind of right. for those of us who know American football there are long time rivalries that transcend the quality of the teams. For example no matter where the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins are standing that is a game that could go either way regardless. Iran and Iraq due to their history are just like that for, the Iraqis playing Iran is their Superbowl.

But not ours. We have many stronger rivalries such as with South Korea or the 8-0ers.

Iraqis have such a fetishism and obsession for Iranians. Is Younis Mahmood not a representation of Iraq? Or is he fake too?

Online communities are representations of people, if the vast majority are doing it.

Some people's love fest of Iraq here is so sad. Open your eyes guys, they are the ill-wishers of Iran. Even Saudis don't obsess about Iran like the Iraqis do.

Also our glorious nations of Iran and Kazakhstan share an ancient bond of brotherhood. But Uzbek nation is not our brothers, they are backstabbing filthy animals.

Just an interesting fact about Iraq. After the first world war
when it was partitioned from the Ottoman empire and came under the British mandate, the government of Iran at the time protested to the British and said that an independent Iraq was not acceptable because Iraq is historically a part of Iran.

They said that many Iranians either reside in Iraq, or were Iraqis of Persian descent, and that Iran was the sole custodian of the holy sites in Najaf and Kerbala.

After Iraq's loss to Qatar, Iraqis trashed the facebook and Instagram pages of the Iraqi-born Qatari player who scored the winning goal.
His pages went from only having a handful of comments to tens of thousands within a few hours. They were calling him a traitor and a sell-out.
The next day Facebook took down his page after Iraqis kept reporting him.

we all need to learn to move on. Let's learn from the Europeans, we all know the French and the Germans didn't use to love each other either..... this hatred is destructive, if we want to see a glorious Iran, it can happen under peace and when all neighbors learn to coexist. That is not possible as long as we stick to old school mentality, whether Iranian or Arab. What have any of us achieved so far by this hatred??? An Iraqi wants same things as I for my children, he isn't my enemy, my enemy is the one that benefits from forcing us hating and killing each other.

I got one red line only; let me live my way in my own country, deciding my own destiny, and you are free to live your way. (no religious, political, economic, ethnic intervention etc)

                anyways, back to football

Daddash, we are talking about their best player ever saying nonsense about Iran. This highlights a deep fetishism that they, as a country, have with Iran. Trolls online can say whatever, but this is a real person saying a stupid thing.

Nothing more than that. I agree with our post.

His comment that "Iran fears one team only and that is Iraq?" so what....I bet a lot of us do and either way, that's just loving on team.

[we also factor in what IR has done to them, controlling many parts of the country and regime and the hatred is understandable).

We got few fetishes about you know which countries ourselves

Love your well timed videos you posted on Twitter yesterday! Great job!!! I posted some but took mine down as soon as I saw yours, they were far better quality!

I was having the same discussion in another thread. Sadly i think we all just have to live with the fact that we can't replicate that in Asia far too many differences than Europeans ever had

I've been following Iranian football for a long time and the only time Iran feared playing a team was Holland in 1978.

However, some Iraqis love to tease Iranians like a fly.
                          Its a complex for them.

It would be unreasonable to think we could get along with them when to this day we are still recovering bodies of our soldiers from their country and Abadan and Khorramshar are still not rebuilt.

Yeh Iraq is not our rivalry but Iran is Iraq's Rivalry. For someone who's an improvement to mediocrity, that should be self explanatory. Or not?
