Ebrahimi played well, Pouraliganji was a beast, he is so powerful and has a pretty strong skull lol. Ashkan is and has been CQ's ace in his sleeve. nice combination play between our front guys (Azmoun, taremi, Jahanbakhsh) azmoun and Taremi both played very well. Azmoun was just too much for China to handle. Great speed and strength looked like a cheeta chasing rabbits. He did run a lot though and Taremi will not play in the next game I hope he is ready to go for the next game. A big khastenabashid to players and coach and his staff. Just Two more games, we are so close.

I really think this is the best combo of front 3 we have....only arguement is azmoun and taremi link up well but that is something that has developed over the years but I think saman can serve sardar much better due to his capabilities. time will tell

taremi isn't flawless but there is a reason he starts every game

I was so pissed when taremi picked up the second yellow. I wish he was subbed at half time with a 2 goal lead. I also wish saman wasn't risked as he was carrying a yellow. good to see kanani instead of majid so he is rested and not suspended for japan. although I haven't been impressed with majid so far this tournament.

back to taremi. Taremi wastes a lot of chances yes, but he also creates a lot of chances. He positions himself well. He hustles and helps defend. He links up very well with sardar. He is a physical presence. Given as we don't have ali daei or vahid hashemian playing anymore, taremi is our best option to play alongside sardar.
I don't like taremi being compared to arash borhani. Borhani would miss 99/100 chances. He is Iran's best golnazan of all time. taremi makes like 1/3 chances or so. No player scores every chance. he scored a sitter and assisted a goal and missed another great chance.
We will miss taremi next game.

So I thought yellow cards are all cleared from this round since our discussions here... so next round for japan for example Saman gets a yellow he can't play in the final????

Nah, yellow cards are cleared now. So only way a player won't make it to the final is through a red card.

Everyone go back and watch the break-away chance that China had against us in the second half.

Look who was ready waiting inside OUR goal, during a fast-paced break, just in case the ball got past Beiro

              Azmoun

Just got back from the Stadium and the atmosphere was amazing. Incredible fighting spirit from our boys. 3 of the last 5 goals were due to their fighting spirit of our forwards and stealing the ball from the defenders.

This game and our game against South Korea in Tehran was one of the best games of the last 2 years. Absolutely loved it.

Why do you think taremi continues to play even though he is absolute shit at finishing? Party bazi? Would you play him if you were the coach?

1 - Absolutely flawless game plan from CQ. We didn't exhaust ourselves in the 2nd half and we didn't need to. We got the first goal early which is what we needed and from there the match was more or less sealed.

2 - Very hard fought match by the boys, especially in the 1st half and top marks to Sardar and Ashkan... Honorable mentions PAG, Ramin and Omid as always.

Other than that, I think this was one of the best matches we have played in the AFC for a very long time and we are definitely the favorites, I mean underdogs to win this tournament.

What a glorious way to make the semis once again and I really believe and hope this team will go all the way and CQ deserves nothing less than winning a major tittle with the boys and the nation he loves so much.

We are also the first team in Asian cup history to keep a clean sheet in 5 games in a row.

EDIT: Read that South Korea has done it too? Iranian commentator however said we're first.

I watched the 2nd half with english comms (AFC's I presume) and boy, they were so blatantly on the side of the chinese throughout.
They literally were begging & praying for china to score a goal throughout 2nd half.
You could easily mistake them to be chinese comms. They were THAT biased.

so the 3-0 felt like someone raped their cat in front of them! stupid idiots, whoever they were

                              Several takes:

                              1. Sardar was an absolute beast today. He was by far the best player today.
                              2. Taremi was amazing too with an assist for Karim along with scoring one on his own. He needs to finish his opportunities tho. He will be missed for the Japan game.
                              3. Kanani has developed into a great CB for us and CQ's faith in him has been delivered!
                              4. China had several good opportunities to score so we need to do better in defense.
                              5. Glad to see Hajsafi back in his spot next to Omid!
                              6. Jahanbakhsh still looks shaky and I am beginning to think its best to use him as a sub.
