This is a Japan team that plays very organized and smart football. Mixture of experienced and young players, nothing particularly flashy about them but very solid in all aspects of the game. in games like this where both sides are matched up pretty well, the difference is going to be which individual player or players are going to step up to the challenge and be the difference maker. the opportunities will be there for both teams and the winner will be decided by the difference makers.

I expect a rather boring game so long as the score is 0-0, but once one of the teams scores, this can turn into the match of the tournament.

my only concern is that our team doesn't have any experience with "having to come back from behind". and this is one of those games that we may need to do that. our boys can't lose concentration if they fall behind. this is where having a coach like Carlos Qerioz can be of immense importance.

I think we will park the bus at the 70th minute if we’re up 1-0. And believe me Japan will not want to concede early on as their attackers are worse than their defenders. Japan has an organized defense but their forwards don’t seem to connect. This is why missing Taremi in this match is a loss as Sardar and Mehdi have built a beautiful chemistry up front. But I’m sure Karim will do well in place of Mehdi, and God willing if we make the final, we will have the duo back.
