IRAN-JAPAN Betting odds and related news (Who are the real underdogs?)

As the bookies have it right now Iran is favored to beat japan. But this is a tricky bet even though Iran is favored. When it comes to soccer betting you can either bet win/loss or draw. So essentially you are picking 1/3 of the results to come true. If you pick Iran to win and its a draw then you lose and that's where it gets tricky. This is for a single game bet and only goes to minute 90.

There are other types of bets to win the whole tournament but not considered an individual bet. I like to keep this post going as we get closer to game day to see where the money is going and how betting goes forward based on team conditions and news coming out.

As it stands it pays 1:1 almost for Iran winning and 2:1 for Japan winning. So within those terms Iran is favored to take the win.

In about 24 hours we will have a much better look at odds. Some of the books are not set yet as its too early. Once bets starts rolling in and other books announce their lines too then it will just average out overall. So we will have to wait and see how it shapes out as we get closer to game day.

When I've periodically checked, on all the UK/European betting sites Iran has been either favourite, or for a short time joint favourite back in Nov 18, since August 2018.

But we are the underdogs.

Very good point you have brought up. In all the choices available the draw has the best odds. Probability wise speaking that seems to be what can happen the most. My gut feeling is that Iran will score and win in real time. I hope that will take place.


Taking out the draw factor however and looking at Iran and Japan just head to head without the draw the Iran bet pays almost half the Japan one or if you betting on japan getting paid double the Iran one, so technically in those terms Iran is considered a favorite to bring it home. This is purely just on the odds of each team winning by itself without looking at the draw factor.
In all honestly it may be a tough day
