Anyone up for a crazy trip to UAE? Need advice from UAE members about a few things.

Hi guys, I’m getting SUPER excited thinking about the possibility of beating Japan on Monday and playing in the final next Friday. I am taking one thing at a time and focusing on Japan but also want to plan in case things turn out well. This could be a once in a generation type opportunity. I’ve started thinking about possibly dropping the $1K to fly out to Abu Dhabi from the US for ~24-48 hours to catch the possible final. A few quick questions for UAE based members or anyone who has done this before:

1) is this feasible if no major airport delays? I’m assuming Etihad and Emirates are professional and reliable.

2) if abu dhabi doesn’t have good flights, is transport between Dubai and Abu Dhabi ok?

3) are people buying tix off Ticketmaster? Ticketmaster gives random tickets and I can’t tell if I’m getting good seats.. should I aim for category 1 in the upper deck or lower category 2 or 3 in the lower deck?

Anyone else considering doing this from the US?? Please share any thoughts if this is crazy let me know!

. Yes to all, uae is an efficient country and you can arrive on time , get a taxi and even an Uber to get your to Abu Dhabi...

Thank you for the advice! Do you have finals tickets? It is so hard to figure out what section to sit in for a stadium I’ve never seen before. What sections are good for cheering TM??

Hey.. You can get tickets easily here.. Also if you want to go to the match from Dubai you can come with us.. We rented a car and from Dubai it will take about 1 hour to the stadium

My father and I will be in Dubai and have already bought our tickets for the final. if there is a transportation option available for iranian fans we are very interested in joining you guys. will you go anyway (even if Iran would not make it)?

I'm in a v similar position, I'm looking to fly out from the UK for 48hrs. I would get your tickets as soon as the final whistle in the semi has gone though.

I'm also keen on Cat 1 tickets but interested to see which section is best.

I live in Washington DC area. I have been checking the direct roundtrips to UAE and Etihad has direct flights at $1210 via booking.com (not too bad for a few days before the flight assuming I fly out on Wednesday). How do I buy tickets for the final?

I have 1 extra final ticket in Cat 1 in the middle section. Final tickets are almost gone.

I bought mine Cat 1 in Away section but it doesn't really matter since most Iranians are going to take over the stadium wether we play Qatar or Australia.

The only thing you need to focus on is securing your game tickets and flight. There are plenty of reasonably priced hotels here, and the best way to get to the games is by renting a car and driving from Dubai, it's very cheap and the most convenient way. Costs $20 per day, gas is cheap, and parking is also cheap and aplenty. I have been here since the round of 16 and had bought tickets to all of the games online through Ticketmaster before coming. You need to secure game tickets asap though!

Yeah what happened??? Last night when I checked the website there was all this availability.. now the entire ticketmaster site says tickets not available until after semifinals. What happened???
