I can never watch the highlights of this match that first goal is haunting me. Literally first two things you learn as a child playing soccer. Always play to the whistle and don’t argue with the red. The penalty was questionable, it was very tough but Morteza did let his hand hang. Third goal iirevelant we weren’t even playing.

Overall we had a good first half but our team collapses after they concede. We haven’t won a single game going a goal down these 8 years. I saw no fight in the team where in reality they should’ve been fully motivated after making such a poor mistake.

Yes it’s easy to question the line up now that the game is over but that’s useless. We deersved to lose this match which is why I’m more angry than heartbroken. Our attack was to lob the ball and hope azmoun does the rest.

Thank you Team Melli and Carlos for trying unfortunately we shot ourselves in the foot.

Japan showed they are fitter and stronger side today. Our players don't have any muscles on them and they got knocked out very easily. We were somewhat unlucky today as well as the Referee was against us again. I have lost count on how many referees have been biased towards us! Its just unbelievable this sort of thing keeps happening to us again and again. The loss is not CQs fault as we lost concentration many times in the match and the opponent took advantage. We need to take this loss as a very important lesson and learn from it for our world cup qualification games. Finally lets move on with CQ as our coach. He has done an amazing job this whole tournament. We were also really tired and had a defeated mentality after we conceded the penalty and some of our players you could see on the pitch lost hope...

The first 22 min was japan all over us ..! But we withstood their early storm & took over the game, especially after the 2nd half until that bs conceded 1st goal..!
After that colossal fk up by our players, the most disheartening thing to witness was our feeble attempt @ a come-back..if u can even call it that ..!?

CQ attempted to calm the players after that on the sideline, when that wasn’t going anywhere went balastic trying to inject some motivation but that didn’t do nothing either ..!! His first sub was his most questionable act as a coach bringing on perhaps the biggest choker of all for about the only guy with the experience & pedigree to retain some possession & bring us back in game in dejagha ..! Other subs were spot on but the rest of the team was still shell shocked & out of it completely, so they couldn’t have the desired effects...!

Sure, from the get go it was a Clash of Styles between the two teams & it was gonna as such the whole game long anyways ..! I don’t see how anyone can all the sudden expect us to play like Japan & pass the ball around with ease ..!?

The biggest coaching flaw with CQ was always the inability of his team to come back from behind & change into an efficient attacking attacking tactics when our initial defensive tactics fail...!
Yet tbf we were an amazing defensive team with him @ helm & got much further than we coulda dreamed in our football getting favorable results in Asia & beyond. His win to loss & tie record is a testament to this.
