And we lose cause of our own stupidity.

Man, I just want to lose a game normally. Even Spain game was lost cause of a ridiculous deflection!

Why? Isn't the point of WCQ to qualify to the WC? Why pray for Japan and make the task harder than it needs to be? Be careful what you wish for. Revenge is not always such a good motive.

I know it's hard and many of us including yours truly are heart-broken. Yet, we need to learn and move on. Time to take responsibility rather than blame. Japan has been investing in it's football for the last 40 years. They have a plan to be in the semifinals of 2022 WC and they want to win the WC by 2050. Their federation annual budget is $200 million ours is hardly $20 million. There was a time before the revolution when I was a kid that we beat them with ease but that was a long time ago. While we had managed the psychological aspect of the game well up to this point, we definitely lost it today. I am not sure what CQ said in his post match interview yet if I were him I would take full responsibility for this defeat and just thank my players and my cadre for all their hard work.

I just read the Masoud said in the mixed zone that CQ has said farewell to the players in the locker room https://www.varzesh3.com/news/158755...86%D8%A7%D9%86 If true, this is an end of an era. I wish him well and I hope FFI will make wise decisions in the future direction of TM and our football.

        Go TM!

No this is exactly what we need. Remember when Koreans kicked our asses back in 2011!
When we get them after this we defeat them 4 Times out of 5 games.

And we will have one of the Top 4 anyways and if i could choose i would go
          for Japan.

Gheirat can take us so far. My conclusion today after my high hopes weren't realized is that we are definitely not the best and why should we be? Look at our sports infrastructures and compare them with others. Our players' gheirat and our people's passion and patriotism are not sustainable ingredients for success.

I'm in the uncomfortable position of wanting uae to win it all. I don't want qatar because they are not qatari and I don't want Japan because it will be their 5th title.
I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

I've always been of the view that I want the team that knocks me out to go on to win because then its becomes losing to the eventually champion and lessens the pain a bit.

I don't know if this needs its own thread or not but much has been made about the defenders' mistake of chasing the ref on the 1st goal. What I haven't heard is Beiranvand's unsuccessful exit and him punching thin air. If a keeper comes off his line he must get the ball.

Beiro saw the entire thing. He knew his players weren’t in position to win the header so he made a Hail Mary to try to save it. I don’t think he comes out to get it if the players didn’t complain

Iran has more to gain from a qatari victory : some of our players play there, they help us with camp and friendlies aswell. And they are very nice with us as we always beat them!

Now that a few hours is past it....I'm starting to come to peace with it. As others mentioned, we truly deserved to lose, just for our reaction (or lack of) to the first goal. We gave up. Completely collapsed.

Anyways, congratulations to Japan and I wish them the best of luck on Friday in the final. Hope they win the cup. after akk, they are the country that really got me into football through their iconic anime cartoon, Captain Tsubasa or as we know it "Footbalistha"

They are an absolute inspiration of a country and culture....as I mentioned 3 months ago in my Japan trip report, they are the one nation I'm so so so envious of (their werido manga obsession and suicide-happy mentalit aside )

I hate to say it, but we came out of the cabin too offensively. We suddenly pushed forward in numbers, trying to decide the game, and left our backline exposed, something they lack the quality for against such good opposition. The scene leading to the blackout came due to that, a dangerous breakthrough in which they had outplayed us. Kanaani's saving tackling was good but risky, but this situation should have never occured.

I don't understand why we played so un-CQ like suddenly. Had he jst stuck to his trademark defense first approach, and not allowed the Japanese to counter.

I hope Qatar wins the cup, so they can show what a small country with the right investment and organization can do. Iran as a nation is fucked up and we will never reach something like this, until some big chances happens inside our country and peoples consciousnesses. Corruption all time high, everyone thinks about his own pockets. And international everyone hates us right now we have no allies, our country is being sold to foreign countries like China, Russia.

But Wish the best for our nation and our Football, hopefully we can build a good young, talented, strong team for wc2022

Really sad result. Our attack sucked. We couldn't create a single chance with the exception of Azmoun's shot in the first half.

Never will i support a Team which name its league as a provocation. As it is supposed to be the Persian Gulf. Nobody will delete or rewrite the history of the khalije FARS.
