Playing offensive against Japan would have been a loss as well. All four of there defenders are legionnaires.

Truly pathetic if you think about it. A bunch of idiots running after the referee while the ball is in play. I think one reason the ref gave advantage was because of that. I read somewhere that the ref pointed to the spot and thus does not have to blow the whistle. That's why Iranian players stopped playing and went to him. Can someone shed some light on this?

Fucking Kanani cost us that goal and the game I am sorry to say. We got flattened and all concentration and composure was gone. Iran was on the attack and had many chances but that totally killed us in every way possible.

IPL has been shut down for 3 months for this? What an absolute embarrassment. Let’s see who Quieroz will deflect blame on or who he will shit on from IFF for this loss. Good riddance

apparently someone blew a whistle. The Iranian players stopped and that is why it happened. Honestly IDK how they allow whistles to games, people who bring it should have it confiscated or be escorted out

The referee whistles are completely different than cheap whistles. So that's unlikely.

Even so I remember in the Ireland vs Croatia match in Euro 2012 both teams got goals from that

Understood. But I also believe there were "too many chefs in the pot" when it came to our defence. We got comfortable therefore 4-5 players approached ref assumed that it was under control being that we have so many players in defense which allowed the japanese player to score.

The only reason we lost was because of a defensive messup. The only way to win was to counter Japan and hope for an opportunity.

Attacking Japan would be an easier loss.

As I humbly stated in other threads this team's weakest link is lack of star players. In tough situations you need players with strong mentality who can come over the top. Like Azizi Daei Nekounam, and even Abedzadeh. Players who do not cave in and become better in tough situations. We have a nice team, who can close down the game against any team but not one who can come back and play from behind.

Hello Iranian friend, I followed your performance in this cup of Asia, I wanted you to win, you deserve but as in the match of Portugal, when the coach must make the difference and give a plus (this is not always al ghayra that works, sometimes you have to ask a good tactic) he is magnifying, but now I am sure that you all know that carlos queiroz is not a very good coach like you say

We lost to the better team. period!
And the first goal was schoolboy error, destroyed the whole game. We are also mentally not strong; when we are down 2:0 we lose self control. Japan won because they were in all those areas professional that we were not!

Come on guys, they were arguing with every refereeing decision from the get-go, even the ones that had zero or minimal impact on the game.

Anyone who has played football knows, some calls go for you, some go against and no ref. is perfect.

You can't have the entire focus of your game be arguing every decision or the result is what we saw today which itself was a repeat of what happened at the WC... frustration, total lapse of concentration and idiotic decisions... rinse and repeat, you get the same result.

[emoji817] accurate. You play until the whistle. You don't argue every call, you play the game. That goal killed the game.

We beat China because their players were match fixing in that match! Otherwise from that game, it would have been the harsh reality for us.
